No mention of who's got JF1 (542 as was) yet the other 3 kirklees school routes been dripped (HG1, WM1 & WM2) all have alternatives.

Is lack of an official registration another reason why Yorkshire are operating without charging?

Yorkshire Travel have announced the 61 and 61A they take over from Monday will be free to use throughout October That doesn’t sound financially sound Although in reality I expect a service like this will be heavilly skewed towards concessionary passengers, so the fares taken probably amounts to a few quid per trip

They didn't do that with the 81 or Huddersfield services so maybe people in those areas need to stand up and demand an apology lol

I think this route is one that some goodwill needs to be earned, so free fares for a month will be a good starting point.

Seems they are trading as Yorkshire Buses going off their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Yorkshirebus/Going off their facebook they already operate a few school services,so i'm guessing they must have more vehicles than just the repainted Eclipse.

For anyone who doesn't have access to Facebook: this is the B7RLE that it appears Yorkshire Buses will be using from tomorrow on the 61. Ex-First Glasgow 69118. Full image credit to 'Yorkshire Buses' Facebook page Attachments:

New Arriva services 377/378/571 also aren't charging fares, at the moment.

Is lack of an official registration another reason why Yorkshire are operating without charging? Possibly, but if so it would only be due to inexperience - an experienced operator would be happy assuming a short-notice acceptance of the registration when replacing another being withdrawn (Connexions) and so would just run as normal. I suspect the more likely explanation for this is some form of sub-contract agreement with Yorkshire Travel running it on behalf of Connexions for whatever reason - particularly given that Metro is listing both operators.

Service 255 looks to be interworking with service 571 at Halifax
Service 260 is interworking with the 378 in Huddersfield Service 261 is interworking with the 377 in Huddersfield Although the latter two may only be partially as the 260 had a double deck on which went in and back out as the 260 with the solo staying on the 378 for another round trip

Well, seems Yorkshire Travel were actually pretty tardy in submitting their (somewhat minimal) registration: Service number 61, 61A Service type Start point Finish point Via Date received 03 Oct 2022 Effective date 03 Oct 2022 I guess they're within their rights to assume this will be accepted, given the status of the route, but talk about by the skin of their teeth! Interestingly, the registration also says: Supported by subsidies? No - are they really running it commercially, especially the first month with no fares...? Re Metro listing both operators: that's their standard practice when a service is changing operator, so I wouldn't read anything into that.

I've registered loads and it's not hard to register a bus service it's just a case of filling in two forms.

According to their facebook they are also running school services L57 (Lawnswood) and L53 (Woodkirk)
Metro agree with the first one, but they say the L53 is Tetleys

Has anybody seen what A&A have been running on the 30? I saw an ex Go North East President parked up at Horsforth (old police station) as I went home earlier but I might have been there for a school.

A full sized bus on the 61 would be a bit overkill wouldn’t it?
