Some more double decker vehicles have arrived at Team Pennine for the school contracts two ex Keighley/Rosso Volvo B7TL East Lancs Vykings and a Pride of the North Plaxton President from Harrogate. There should be more arriving soon at Elland and Waterloo. By the looks of it, the Enviro 400s are heading back to Rochdale as 2812 has headed back already. As well as this, the Optare Solos from Team Pennine are being swapped with the Bury Bolts Enviro 200s as they don't want them at Rosso. My guess is the Bury Bolts will run on local services out of Halifax from October. Apparently, there are also 3 brands are arriving for Halifax at October but the only known one is for Calder Country. They don't want them? If I were a Elland driver, I'd be asking Alex directly why are we having something another division don't want, because clearly anybody taking an old Solo must be finding bad issues with the buses they don't want.

Well seeing as most of them have been driving Tiger quality vehicles for years, I don't see why they would only now kick up a stink about quality of the fleet...

It is never that simple, just because Rosso don't want them doesn't mean there are any actual issues with them - that is before you get whether "doesn't want" actually means what it appears to mean, they may simply no longer fit the needs at the depot. It could be that there is a preference with the engineers and/or drivers for other types, such as Optares over ADLs, in terms of what they are used to or get the best out of. You also have questions of standardisation to reduce parts holding or to be able to use a single source for parts purchasing or less training as vehicles are similar. I have worked for a number of companies, at one they had a fleet of early Dennis Tridents where they struggled to get 50% on the road on any one day and a fleet of Volvo B7TLs that they swore by and never missed a beat whilst a subsequent employer who built up a fleet of random secondhand early Tridents and never had any problems with any of them but picked up a couple of B7TLs that they never got on with and disposed of early. Buses are effectively hand built products, so there can be some variability between buses & batches, generally maintained & run in mixed fleets by human beings, there are always going to be preferences and the less popular and they are never going to be the same from company to company & person to person.

Numerically that alledged ADL v Solo swop does not add up and Rochdale needed more vehicles for enhanced contracts.

Numerically that alledged ADL v Solo swop does not add up and Rochdale needed more vehicles for enhanced contracts. The WYIS update has 5 Solos, 7 VDL/Plaxton and 4 Tempos going from TeamPennine to Rosso. If only the 5 E200s come the other way, looks like Rosso are up 11 vehicles on the deal.

Also bear in mind there are also a number of vehicles not listed due to join the fleet in the near future such as the E200MMCs for Huddersfield and the Mellors for Halifax. Could still be a further reshuffle to cover your these.

The last Volvo B10 Wright Renown on main services in Yorkshire, Keighley's 1077, has now joined the DTV fleet as T996.

Hope the current owners of 3601 look after it - that also is a clear candidate for preservation especially if it were to be reverted to its original front end.

E200 MMCs for Team Pennine Waterloo;
574 YX18 KNJ 726 YX18 KNF 727 YX18 KNG 728 SK68 LZL
726 & 727 are both previously with Dawson's Rentals and were previously used by Transdev's York Depot when they ran the 42 service. Both were also recently with Leeds Teaching Hospitals as in between vehicles.
574 is branded for Kirkheatonquick meaning 726-728 are for Huddsquick.

Not quite, the E200MMCs used on the 42 were given fleet numbers 726 and 727, and had very similar number plates of YX18K ZF and YX18K ZG, but they were different buses to these ones ... very confusing though!

Not according to WYIS www.wyis.org.uk - only 574 is full length and reflected by the fleet numbering

HuddsQuick has YX18K NF/G: www.flickr.com/photos/32938317@N00/51422774019/in/photolist-2mm4ab4-2jzJu8E-JieAYw-2m4Pdvy. This 'N' model is definitely bigger than the 8.9m 'Z' models used on the 42.

They have KNF and KZF
The Ns being longer models than the Zs
This won't be confusing at all!

There was a discussion on here about it. I participated in it. It has clearly been removed.

There was a discussion on here about it. I participated in it. It has clearly been removed. I did too. It got very heated and some inappropriate things were posted which clearly needed to be removed. The Admins must have felt the rest of the conversation wasn't worth saving.
