WYIS are reporting that short solos 167/168, normal solos 188/189/190, Centros 1231-1237 and Tempos 1401-1404 are all going to be being transferred to Rosso
I’m surprised about the short solos, as I’d have assumed they’d have been refurbished as Calder Country buses to work alongside the forthcoming Mellor Stratas.
I’m also surprised they are splitting up the Tempos

The Solos to Rosso are for increased TfGM tenders, possibly not known at the time of withdrawal or simply on the basis that 167/168 are 3 years younger.

Granted i said about age but the general consensus about 167 & 168 moving is that everyone thought they'd have stayed at Eoland for use on the Calderdale Country routes alongside the Mellor Stratas.

I don't understand why he would tweet about improvements at Elland accompanied with a picture of two solos destined for Rosso?

AFAIK Rosso only used the BT one's on schools and rail replacement work so given the ex-Tiger ones are three years older than them, I'd be surprised if they were going to be used on "normal" work.

Actually all of the Centros that are going to Rosso are 08 reg so are 2 years younger than the Volvo ones the loaned from BT (with the exception of 1231 which is an 07 reg). I'm wondering are the Centros and 59 reg eclipses are straight swaps given 7 Centros gone down and 7 Eclipses have come up.

The OP was correct, the Blackpool ones were younger - they were new in Sept 2010. The Eclipses on loan to Team Pennine will return to Rochdale.

I’m also surprised they are splitting up the Tempos I think the Mellor Stratas will be in service from September 5th. There will be six so it makes sense. The rest of the Optare Solos are staying with Elland depot and I believe that a few Optare Solos will transfere to Waterloo for their 303/304 Huddersfield-Golcar Services. I also believe that the Solos 175-177 has been sent to Thorntons for refurb as they haven't been in service for a while and also think that 183, 186 and 187 have also been sent to Thorntons. Maybe not all of those that I listed are being refurbished, probably some recieving maintenance. Also a Centro is working the 83 Huddersfield to Denby Dale this morning. I think a few of them will transfere to Rochdale and some can go back to Team Pennine as there are some single decker requirements on some school contracts.

Also along with the Holmfirth Explorer bus service Optare Tempo 1408-YJ10 EZF is probably gone to Thorntons and going to recive a Pride of the North or Transdev GO App livery.

I wonder if Transdev will give any ex Tiger buses repaints only? Many vehicles have had an interior refurb not too long ago and if they were cleaned up a bit, they’d be satisfactory. Various Rosso buses haven’t had an interior refurbishment. The problem Transdev have, is that the interior very clearly harks back to Tiger days.

I do think that Rosso and Team Pennine are swapping the Bury Boltz Enviros and that one Rosso liveried Enviro 200s for some Optare Solos. I think the Rochdale Runners will still remain but might recieve an interior refurb. The Optare Solos are for Bury Boltz.

I think the Mellor Stratas will be in service from September 5th. There will be six so it makes sense. If that's the case, it's ahead of schedule as every announcement so far has just said "by early October". May explain why there are no other significant adjustments to routes or timetables.

Tiger only had one baby solo, 168, and the only other solo off since July 26th when the tweet was made is 167. 167/168 are two of those believed destined for Rosso.

On another note, does anybody know what's up with Keighley Gemini 403? According to Bustimes it hasn't been out since the end of July.

Ah, but did he actually say they were coming back to Elland though? Looking back at the tweet he didn't, it's one of those cunning PR efforts designed to make people believe things are happening for them, when it's simply happening for Transdev customers in general, or in this case those over in Rosso land. Edit - actually what's really funny is his tweet about a fresh delivery to Rosso, if only the general public in Lancashire knew how thrown thrashed and bashed about that bus had been since it's days at Tiger lol.

Some more double decker vehicles have arrived at Team Pennine for the school contracts two ex Keighley/Rosso Volvo B7TL East Lancs Vykings and a Pride of the North Plaxton President from Harrogate. There should be more arriving soon at Elland and Waterloo. By the looks of it, the Enviro 400s are heading back to Rochdale as 2812 has headed back already. As well as this, the Optare Solos from Team Pennine are being swapped with the Bury Bolts Enviro 200s as they don't want them at Rosso. My guess is the Bury Bolts will run on local services out of Halifax from October. Apparently, there are also 3 brands are arriving for Halifax at October but the only known one is for Calder Country.
