According to WYIS there is also another Dawsons Solo - 165 YJ13 HJG which judging by Flickr photos would have been new to Mullany's of Watford and last used by R&B Travel of Clee Hill

“ Transdev new Dalesway doubles launch this Sunday”
On the way to work this morning I noticed KBC 402 on the 66 and one of the new dalesway deckers but it had no brake lights working !
🙈 first weekday of new buses !

Of the 3 “new” dalesway buses, one has electrical issues, one has a gearbox problem and the third well the drivers cab window fell out this week !
Still at least they are shiny 🙈
Old buses are back on Skipton !

They've currently got Optare Metrocity demonstrator 301 YJ67FXE alongside Pride of the North Eclipses 1866 & 1867 with 2019 helping at Malton. Ex Witchway Geminis 2773 & 2780 will be on 840.

It did do a few trips on Cityzap & 20 but i think it got swapped for the 2 POTN Eclipses

I get that now isn't the best time to be investing in a new fleet, but it can't be just me that thinks the Coastliner is in the worst state it has been in a long while? Maybe even Transdev as a whole.
Yes there are good passenger features and midlife overhauls, but 16 year old vehicles trundling up & down the A64 cannot be good for reliability when they already appear to struggle on that front.

They are only spares to help with the increased frequency to help over the summer. For example only one of them was in use today (according to BusTimes) and it only did Malton to Thornton Le Dale shorts
Generally though, clearly the policy isn’t like it was in Blazefield days when Coastliner was at the front of every queue to get a new fleet and got a few new buses every 1-2 years I’m priority to everything else. Now they are treat just like all the other high profile routes like the 36, Witch Way etc.

Yes there are good passenger features and midlife overhauls, but 16 year old vehicles trundling up & down the A64 cannot be good for reliability when they already appear to struggle on that front. Not sure I would agree with that. All buses they had on the 843 yesterday and today were less than 5 years old. Most journeys on the 840 were on buses less than 8 years old, with just one using an older bus – I don't know about the 05-reg but all of the others are high-spec buses, either bought for Coastliner or Witch Way and fitted out accordingly. In around 2011/12, they had one L-reg Leyland Olympian that regularly ran the 844 between Leeds and York, and during the summer was often seen on the 840 to Flamingo Land, which was definitely a worse allocation! Most years they have needed to supplement the regular fleet with a couple of older buses to run the summer timetable, they used POTN-liveried 2005-reg buses in summer 2018 and 2019, at least they have painted the buses into Coastliner colours this time! As for the fleet overall, I would say it looks a lot healthier now than it has done for a while. On the York fleet (including Fulford, Malton and Idle), apart from the Coastliner 05 B7TL and the POTN 09 B7RLE, the oldest buses in stage carriage service are 9 years old. In Harrogate, they have a few older buses, with 8 that are more than 15 years old, but 24 that are less than 6 years old. In Keighley, two-thirds of the buses are less than 10 years old, and they've got rid of pretty much all the Darts. In Burnley, they've got 18×21-reg Stratas, 30×17-reg Versas, 14×70-reg Sky Class E400s and about 20 older buses. The buses at Rosso are looking considerably more youthful than they did pre-takeover with new or newer buses running on many routes.

The 05 reg ones e.g 2760 will still have some of the Coastliner features as they are ex-Hotline. They'll also be pretty quick too if they've been looked after like 402/403 (2402/2403 nowadays) have been. However i do get the point been made. In my opinion they should have sent the 05 regs to the Rosso fleet and sent the 11 & 62 reg ex-Coastliner Geminis back to Malton/York for the summer as they'll have jist needed the current branding applying.

36 Gemini 3620 has been named Gareth Southgate. If England win the Euros it may have to renamed Sir Gareth Southgate in The New Year!

Apparently it took 5 hours from the decision to so name a vehicle to the name vinyls being applied to 3620 so any necessary change should not be quite quick

Amazingly quick to jump on a bandwagon.
Should've named them from the start & backed the team.
Standard Transdev gimmick

According to WYIS, two B7TLs 3601 & 3604 have been passed to charity Project Wingman where aircrew support NHS staff. On the project's website is a photograph of a different Volvo in a light blue livery. Projectwingman.co.uk

It looks like Flyer Optare Versa 215 is transferred to York. WYIS has it down as a loan. It's been a regular on the 20 since Monday 26th July. Obviously Flyer now need 1 less vehicle since the 784 became the 64 run by Keighley.
