I will close my argument by accepting Transdev maintain their fleet to a safe standard, far better than GHA did. But there are enough used DDA compliant double deckers on the market for Transdev to replace the 30 elderly buses they use. I rest my case there. Transdev are currently looking at options for replacing the school bus fleet. They inspected withdrawn Explore Dundee Volvo B7TL/Plaxton Predident 4043 at Harrogate Depot over a 3 day period whilst 4043 was enroute to Birmingham for sale. Not sure if any are being purchased. 4043 in background of photo below: wmbusphotos.com/NONWM/Transdev/EB01.html

Can it be assumed that the electric vehicle is for examination purposes and will not operate o/s the confines of one of the depots in the area Providing the infrastructure can be fitted to charge it overnight, them there's no reason why it couldn't do service duties - possibly covering the Electric Solo's duty.

The thing is though, if there is no need to replace good vehicles because they still work, are reliable, and are better liked by drivers and engineers than other more modern stuff (e.g. Tridents) then why replace them? It only adds to costs which in turn are passed on through fare rises to us! Eventually enough new stock will be naturally ordered over the coming years so the Presidents can be cascaded onto school work anyway. The only thing the older vehicles need is a paint job.

The publicity on the Volvo website states that the 7900eh requires a 6 minute charge at the end of each journey. Unless the infrastructure appears overnight at each end of a route in Harrogate then I think it will be unlikely that the vehicle will operate in service

B7TL Gemini 404 is still in LU livery, parked up in Keighley's school yard. Wonder why it isn't in use yet?

It has been used but only on schools. Why it hasn't cascaded a President to school work, i don't know.

Maybe it just hasn't had time to get in the paint shop yet and Transdev don't want to use it on front line work, which would be the 760, in Lancashire livery?
