I wonder what part of the route, they're going to amend? Miss out Hartshead maybe? Ah, while running empty last night, I, followed the 200 through Huddersfield Town Centre, could the route amendment for 229 be, via Kirkgate and Lord Street?, missing out the Railway Station and the right turn into Northumberland Street? Just my thinking until timetables get published.

Regarding 268A/268 does anybody what change to the route is going to be, dare it venture in to darkest Ossett where it may never been seen again! The locals here may not have hike to the bottom Dale Street to get to Bradford or a quick run into Wakefield unless you are following a 126 of either Star or Arriva, just another thought it does seem strange that old Arriva service number are appearing with or am I been just little sentimental....... One of my mate's who works at Heckmondwike as told me, that the 268/A new route is at the Bradford end. During the morning and evening peaks, it'll come out of the Wakefield Road exit, turn left down towards St George's Hall, then left into Hall Ings back to Jacobs Well

There was a good few weeks last year when almost every 268 departure was using that route to leave Bradford previously.
Arriva buses always seem to have inconsistent exits from Bradford with both the 425/7 and the 283 using both exits from the Interchange, maddening when trying to get into position for a photo but ultimately I suppose it doesn't really matter.

The reason the 268/A's for a few weeks last year (while I still worked for them), were exiting by the Wakefield Road entrance and down to St Georges Hall, and turning left, was because on the Nelson Street ramp into Hall Ings to Jacobs Well, when the road surface was damp, the Enviro 400's rear wheels, would slip and not get traction, one older driver, exploded a rear tyre, trying to get grip there, I, understand, that there maybe now some anti-skid surface there, but, I'm not certain, I've not been that area since July 2015. This problem, only ever happened with the Enviro 400's, any other vehicle that was on 268/A's (Volvo, DAF, VDL etc), never had the problem.

why would the 268 & 268A run via St George's Hall at peak times? I'm guessing that the route change will be to use the same route as journeys into the Interchange (missing out the Ice Rink stop) as it says to reduce the journey time not extend it.

no mention of any changes to X6 X63 so guess that was just a rumour or maybe a rethink.

I'm guessing that the route change will be to use the same route as journeys into the Interchange (missing out the Ice Rink stop) as it says to reduce the journey time not extend it. Officially, it's to allow the vehicles to get out into traffic, without having to try force themselves out, out of Nelson Street, and it's NOT to miss out the Ice Rink stop, although, some drivers may do as you've suggested, and do reverse of the inbound route, and miss out the Ice Rink stop, but, when passengers start complaining, that this bus and that bus never showed at Ice Rink stop, then, the drivers, will be caught out. And, like I've mentioned in my original post, I was told this by one of my ex-colleagues, when I asked him what the route change was, plus, once you've turned left at St George's Hall, you can get into the lane that'll take you up via the Ice Rink.

Unreal! I predicted this would happen, I should work as a service planner lol A great pity Geldards Coaches aren't still doing the 711! They built up a very good customer focused service in the time they had it. They added to it in the run up to Christmas 2012 by running a 710 opposite making it a combined half-hourly service.

First have posted details about the changes to the LeedsCityBus. As mentioned, the 5 will be extended but rather than withdrawning the CityBus and replace it with the 5, the service will continue and interwork with the 5. This means that the 5 arriving into Leeds will continue as the LeedsCityBus from York Road running a revised route via The Headrow, Park Row, Boar Lane, Duncan Street and York Street before continuing out of Leeds as the 5. A Sunday service will be introduced on the CityBus route. Single fares go up to £1 but various tickets will be valid on the route, such as First and Metro tickets, day and season tickets from other operators in WY, PlusBus tickets for Leeds, Park&Ride tickets and concessionary bus passes (except before 9.30am weekdays). www.firstgroup.com/leeds/news-and-service-updates/planned-changes/changes-improvements-leeds-citybuswww.firstgroup.com/uploads/node_images/LeedsCityBus_210216.pdfOperating throughout as the 5 (on paper anyway!)

Probably most people, as people don't make themselves aware of service changes.
The reverse route X15 now provides a direct bus from Pudsey to Leeds every 15 minutes in conjunction with service X11.
