PB0000582/135 - ARRIVA YORKSHIRE LTD, 24 BARNSLEY ROAD, WAKEFIELD, WF1 5JX Variation Accepted by SN: Operating between Selby and Pontefract given service number 476 effective from 22-Feb-2016. To amend Timetable. The 476 is being re-introduced between Selby & Pontefract as the current 150 will only run Wakefield to Knottingley from the February changes. This co-incides with the Max'ing of 184/5/9 group and ALL services (including early mornings/Sundays etc) moving to Castleford depot. All Knottingley services will be operated by BI depot hence the curtailment of the 150 at Knottingley. No plans for Max at the present time. 4 or 5 deckers (Id's unknown) are believed to transferring from Arriva North East to Arriva Yorkshire (depot unknown at present but likely to be BI) to cover for an increase in PVR (and/or withdrawal of the remaining President). Penfold Belle Isle could possibly loose say their three workings on 126/7 to Dewsbury

Doubt it will follow the route it used to but there again..... ! The old 186,I seem to remember, operated by Cas depot, went Wakefield,Normanton,Cas, Airedale (as the 184/5 do, then, instead of turning right after passing Airedale Hotel to head for Ponte, it went same way as 188 (Ferrybridge to Hill Top, then straight across at Hill Top lights, and terminated at the top of Hazel Road (Warwick Estate). Will the 150 retain its half hourly service or are we losing a bus? Would be madness to reduce the wakey to pontefract frequency!! Why are wakey due to get more deckers? Have you seen the 184/5/9 at peak times? Enviro minibuses reminiscent of a London tube! They've lost all their alxs and just gained 5 lowlanders. So their fleet has been drastically reduced yet every other depot has gained buses. Who on earth is in charge of the allocations?!

Looks like Arriva are making the main corridors 'one depot' operation. Wakefield - Castleford all Castleford Wakefield - Pontefract all Wakefield.

Castleford also got 6 Commanders (1406-1411) from Wakefield plus another couple 1412-13 from Dewsbury and a couple of Pulsars 1451 and 1479 when they lost their deckers. I make that 16 in with 6 Lowlanders (1600-1605) and just 15 ALX400's out

There's nothing on the Arriva page about the other services going MAX, although, they have mentioned that they've something special planned for Castleford in February.

The major changes in Castleford are route changes in February, the 189 will be going max but not till later in the year. 184 wont be maxing and 185 is cancelled, according to drivers who were talking

Thank you WhereamI and ALX400 for your information. As I am coming to the area on Feb 27th I know not to plan for any MAX routes around Castleford yet. I shall watch out for the route changes due the previous weekend though.

Looks to me like they are re-organising corridors into one standard route - with 189 going every 10 mins between Castleford, Normanton & Wakefield. This would leave the 184 to start in Castleford running to Pontefract. The 185 possibly replaced by new 186 as part of the 187/8 registration? It's a shame there are no timetables on the website yet, North East are advertising theirs already from the same weekend.

Times that by the 15 they've lost and you soon see the problem...

I can see the 30 odd seats per bus for the ALX400 however the Commanders although seating 44 there is the capacity for 28 standing on these. The ALX400 were not used exclusively on the Wakefield corridor with some being found working on 156/9 and others venturing into Doncaster by the various routes. The 6 Lowlanders actually have a seating capacity of 6 more than the ALX400's so while I can agree there are les seats on the Corridor it is no where near as large as you are claiming

It's a shame there are no timetables on the website yet, North East are advertising theirs already from the same weekend. Timetables for some of the services are on the Arriva website. 189 does indeed increase to every 10 minutes between Wakefield and Castleford with 184 curtailed to run between Pontefract and Castleford. Services 148 and 149 will run every 20 minutes each to form a combined 10 minute service between Wakefield, Pontefract and Knottingley. Services 145 and 149 will run Monday-Saturday evenings and service 148 will run on Sundays, meaning service 150 is withdrawn completely. With the exception of Monday-Saturday evening journeys, service 410 is extended to Chequerfield. No timetables yet for the new services, such as the 214 and 476. 145/148/149184189410

Those Arriva timetables are fantastic. If any members of the public actually use their website they'll never catch the right bus! Sundays 148 timetable is a real treat with buses running on different routes with the same number. 410 is equally easy to understand.....not.

Looks like they've added an extra 410 journey from Leeds at 2045, always thought the 2 hour wait between was stupid

The new 229 timetable is available at the Arriva website. Looks to remain a half hourly service as opposed to the every 20 minute that was mentioned in one of the threads.
