Elland Road Park & Ride is scheduled to open on the 23rd June. do we know for sure that the E400s will be here in time? Or that they are even going to be used on the Park & Ride at all? Maybe Hunslet Park will repaint a few of the Olympics Geminis. Enviro 400s due will possibly be used for commonwealth games in Glasgow before coming to Leeds. Are the park and ride Enviro 400s a different batch or are they the same batch from the proposed 33873 - 90 due for Bramley.

Looks nice and funky. how long before I see "camouflage" or "the moving bush" 36277 on other routes. If Misallocated on the X84 , X98/X99 would blend in with the fields.

The Flickr comments seem to suggest people have missed the Elland Road football connection in the livery application, with the grass and football themed puns on the back. Obviously good timing at the moment with football. It's fine, but why does bus marketing always seem to rely on corny puns?
Does anyone know if the Jack Lane/M621 bus gate has been/is being built? I haven't passed that spot for a while myself and just wondered as this will have a big effect on peak journey times. I note the "6 min journey time" has already been more realistically upped to 10 mins!

I hope they extend the Holbeck turn off further down the hard shoulder as its common to queue a long way back on the m621.

Watched Look North they mentioned the new park and ride route PR1 with 36277 posing in its new grass colours. Ive always wondered, wouldn't the 51/52 do the same job, runs the exact same route to the city centre.

The BBC coverage on this: Work has finished on Leeds' first large park-and-ride scheme in time to be used by visitors to the Tour de France. The 800-space scheme at Elland Road is to open at 07:00 BST on Monday, providing a shuttle into the city centre. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-27913495

When the Elland Road Site was in the planning stage: A new report by Leeds City Council has found two sites suitable for short-term development as new park and ride sites. A site adjacent to Elland Road stadium could accommodate up to 1,000 cars and be in place by 2013 at a cost of £2m, according to the report. It says the Elland Road site could be self-financing within five years and is identified as a "quick win". www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-17589905So it is a bit late can now only accommodate just 800 cars, anybody seen anything about what is going to cost and will it be self financing in five years...................

It mentions low emission buses for this route, hybrids? The buses on order are standard Enviro 400`s are they not.

Ive always wondered, wouldn't the 51/52 do the same job, runs the exact same route to the city centre. Unfortunately this would be of little use. In the morning peak the buses are already full having filled up in Morley and Churwell, so there needs to be a dedicated P&R service.

The E400s are the older style as they are already built and in storage in Glasgow ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

The first day of park and ride and the buses I have seen are not very full. The Jack Lane bus gate is still not complete so buses are having to queue at Jct 3 of the M621.

I see that Heart FM are reporting it on the news as 'Leeds First Park & Ride', so have people forgotten about King Lane? (Or the Christmas schemes)

Drove past at 12.45ish today. About 30 cars in the car park. You mean you were that close and were not inclined to try it, not truth in the rumour that the first 100 passengers to use the service got a free gift from first, you will never know now..................... just how good a ride on it might have been......................

The free gift will run in to tomorrow, easily. Sadly no temptation in getting on a bus & was heading in the other direction. Thought they should've launched it with £2 return fares or something like. Did notice an 'advertising van' with a large screen on it, at Armley Gyratory. Very well placed.

Elland Road site now open till 9pm according to first Leeds website, but you have to get the 51 or 52 to get there instead as the last PR1 still finishes at 7pm

It'd be good if the 51 diverted during evenings outbound via the P&R stop on Boar Lane to make this arrangement better, and if anyone boards with a P&R ticket, it diverted via the elland road site so customers could be dropped off. Neither diversion will add much time at that time of night.

Nearer to Christmas running a shuttle to/from white rose (if run to a 20 Min frequency could be done with 1 bus),might be a way to get more people using it. I Dont get why they started straight away with double deckers, most park & rides i know start out with/still operate using Single Deckers. Until things pick up the PR1 Could easily be run with singe deckers (sometimes when ive seen it a solo could even do the job!)

Second Park and Ride site is granted Planning Permission. Planning permission has been granted for an £8.5m 1000-space park-and-ride site in Leeds. The site on Temple Green Road, which lies within the Aire Valley Enterprise Zone, will be the city's second park-and ride scheme. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-29279071
