Darts 225 and 209 moved to Dewsbury I feel sure I saw 205 on the 205 today(!), so has this now moved to Dewsbury too? Only 209 been on road for Dewsbury today. 225 is going back to Wakey as it has a broken spring.

209 still in service at Dewsbury and joined today by 216, initially seen at Cut End but later it was driven by fitter into the bus station before returning to Cut End

Why have two or three of these little 'uns been transferred to Dewsbury and for how long?

Why have two or three of these little 'uns been transferred to Dewsbury and for how long? Maybe Dewsbury are short of buses! When I went past Cut End earlier today only 216, Commander 1412 and Enviro 1061 were over the pits

Does anybody know if more of the mpds are still going to be used. I think its a good idea 209 & 216 been at dewsbury on the 128/130, 205 & 212 board trips as these can handle the footfall and the other vehicles can be used on other trips (apart from 128 services that run via Horbury High). Not seen either one on a 281, 282 or 283 yet. Have Arriva also thought about sending some to sgi as the may be able to use them. Why would Arriva 'send' any vehicles to a company that are in 'competition' with them ? Penfold

Also, does anyone know if the cherished A* YBG will ever make it onto any of the new E200's? Or are they going to die along with the Darts?

If Arriva have no further use for them then if they are still serviceable they will sell them to a dealer and any interested company would have to buy them at market rates. No bus company would 'just send' redundant buses to an opposition.

I doubt it would ever happen, like Penfold says why would they send a vehicle that they are in competition with? If Arriva havent got a use for them all then why not send them to other operators that can use them even rivals such as Sgi or First or YT etc who im sure can find use for them. For example YT could use them on the 262 or 435/436 or even get used at k-line. The only way that sounds likely is for some of them to go through Yorkshire Tiger, as technically they are a related company. For any other companies, they would have to go through a dealer, but its fairly unlikely First will want something off Arriva anyway!

I also wonder how much it could cost to transfer one of them to a car...

The Darts were re registered back to their original plates the day the came out of service. They've been removed, but are they on retention? It usually costs about £80 for the plate to be transferred to a vehicle. The plates have some value and TWY 7 will have some value (£800 at a random guess).

I think it would make sense for the older buses to have the private plates to hide the age, Spectras for example

According to the North East buses forum, under the Arriva latest pages it's been reported that some of our MPDs will be heading to Darlington, Stockton and Redcar to enable their Scania's to go for refurbishment at Blackburn.
