One of the ex-London Solos (possibly 53102?) was also operating FreeCityBus yesterday, Friday 2/11.

I saw the solo on freecitybus on Thursday and spoke to a driver and he said one of the usual fcb was in the depot and another driver said it was getting more busy in Leeds so needed an extra bus to keep up with demand. Mind you every time i see this either Rail Stn, Bus Stn or Markets they are ALWAYS full. Sometimes leave passengers at stops for next bus to come. Maybe a Short Midi Bus is needed! Make sure it can get round tight bends nr Park Lane uni.

i think the mini's in first livery were to replace the ones that had to go to Kirkstall for new adverts, because i saw two last night with what looked like park lane adverts not sure which low.

When 3 of the original Solo's were transferred to Wakefield, i was surprised Metro didn't take the opportunity to at least try a larger vehicle like maybe an Enviro200 Dart or Optare Tempo. Would make sense.

I think what is in order to get FreeCityBus running more smoothly in Leeds is to make total journey time for each loop to be 30 minutes rather than the current twenty minutes.
I think having larger vehicles will increase dwell times at stops and some corners en route harder to negotiate like turning left from East Parade to Headrow/Westgate.

FreeCityBus has already had a revised timetable, the general loop time is now 28 minutes, with variations of a few minutes less/more at quieter/busier times.
The route around Hyde Terrace/Dental Institute is another section of route with tight corners and narrow roads which might be a problem for larger vehicles.

The Solution to that would be to add in more solo's on the route to cope up with demand. Perhaps amend the route to accomodate midi buses...
Leeds is very popular at FCB...just Thinking the wakefield FCB is more popular than Huddersfield's is FTB is...looking at passenger numbers..Wakefield's also got a secure funding for the future of the service.

Not really a misallocation as it wasn't on service but First Bradford Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE 69248 (YJ07 WFP) was turning in the car park of Menston Railway Station at about 4.40pm.

Got a couple of misallocations.
Yesterday I sore a First Huddersfield Gemimi on the 372 Almondbury service, the Sky Blue Line. It was heading back into Huddersfield passing the Tolson Museum. I was heading the other way on a packed Volvo Citybus so I was unable to get its fleet number but it was branded for the 363.
Today First Huddersfield Eclipse Urban Volvo 66743 (YJ54XVT) was on the 398 Storthes Hall shuttle during the morning.

53102 EO02FLB on free city bus today (10/11/07) Also, N418ENW 61051 on X84 (bit unusual!) N418ENW is a regular on X84. Whenever i see the X84 which is frequently it is almost always a Scania single decker. Most of the time it is either Alexander Strider bodied or one of the Wright bodied ex South Yorks ones like 61051. Occasionally, you get the East Lancs Spryte/Flyte (can never remember which!) bodied Scania acquired with Black Prince business.
