I thought Arriva didn't want Tiger buses? There's a difference between Arriva running a low cost operation, and repainting a bus into Tiger Livery. Maybe this is a good thing for the Castleford community, Arriva don't have exactly the best reputation in the world, by the public r/whoosh

Since Alex Hornby's departure there has been a noticeable drop in standards. There have been a lot more off brand vehicles running on branded services for one. Keighley seems to have been the worst for it. Shuttle B7RLEs have been spotting running on local services amongst others The complaint for years has been that Keighley would rather cancel a service than run it with a spare Shuttle vehicle. Probably because they would get a right ol' rollocking from Hornby if they did.

The profile still shows him as representing Transdev going by his cover photo and username... Again, as above... no one is disputing that. They just mention. that the bio has been removed and aht there has been a change of profile picture... Do you know what th bio is? 'Companies are extremely strict as to who represents them on the internet, doesn’t seem like a good sign'. You're very wound up for 7am. Take a chill pill.

Not strictly true. Whilst the bio has been removed, his username is still ' alextransdev ', his cover photo is still a Transdev one and his profile picture is of him in a Transdev cab. That is completely true... Alex's bio has been removed: CORRECT Change of profile picture: ALSO CORRECT Matt mentioned nothing about the username or the the profile picture "not bieng him in a Transdev cab" The profile still shows him as representing Transdev going by his cover photo and username...

www.transdevbus.co.uk/keighley/2023fares-keighleyDay Tripper up to £14 now, didn't it start off at £9. Doesn't feel such good value anymore but I suppose you can still get from York/Ripon to Manchester/Preston for £14. That said ever increasing prices for day tickets the greater the geographical area is a bit of a bugbear of mine. Essentially the bus companies are charging a single price for bus seat for about 16 hours. I could take that seat up for the full sixteen hours shuttling between Keighley and Bracken Bank for £3.80, or Skipton and Leeds for £5.70 or from York to Manchester for £14.00. Each days travel would be using exactly the same resources, i.e. one seat for 16 hours so why the huge discrepancy in prices. It's not like a taxi where the driver has to provide additional fuel the further you go, these are all scheduled services which will run anyway, whether the seat is empty or not. 14 squid! I was planning on a Transdev trip soon utilising a day tripper but I don't think I can justify paying that much anymore. The last time I bought one it was a tenner; which I think was fairly priced.

Team Pennine are not in a position to take anything off anybody, more likely to be the other way around. Exactly but there still seems to be this reputation among some enthusiasts that Transdev are going to come in and launch new services especially one that need lots of resource On the topic of the 508 allegedly running empty, does that mean nobody uses it from the Halifax and Bradford side towards Leeds anymore, as those passengers would still be travelling whatever route it goes after Dawsons Corner In all the years I've used the 508, I have always noticed that there really aren't that many people who use it between Halifax and Dawsons Corner into Leeds. Most of the passengers boarded between Dawsons Corner and Leeds (Farsley, Intake, Leeds & Bradford Road and Kirkstall).

Train drivers union, ASLEF, has said it has rejected a pay offer from 16 train companies and has announced further rail strikes in May and June. The proposal was for a pay rise of 4%, which ASLEF says it's not acceptable with inflation running above 10%. Drivers will now take strike action on Friday, 12th May, Wednesday, 31st May, and Saturday, 3rd June. My job isn't well paid and has a hefty amount of responsibility, including the prospect of prison should I make a mistake that costs a life, but you see me cutting my cloth to meet my needs not downing tools demanding more pay! If drivers aren't happy I suggest they find better paid work rather than messing everyone around, I'm very sure we can find someone willing to take their place for the wage offered. Bring on the robots, I'd quite happily take a chance on a computerised automated driverless train than put up with this strike crap from a bunch of babies! With all due respect Joseph, you've essentially said that your aren't paid enough for the responsibility that comes with your job, and simultaneously condemned the railway workers for wanting more money in the same sentence!

Whilst capacity may be an issue on the D1, it would appear that the company have MUCH bigger fish to fry at the moment and I would expect this is pretty low on the agenda.

The North East Bus and Coach Show will take place on Sunday 7th May 2023 at the Metrocentre (Coach Park), Gateshead. This was a great event last year with plenty of vehicles as well as Go North East opening up their Riverside depot; though I'm not sure the company is involved this year. www.nebpt.co.uk/events/pg3ev142.html

Team Pennine should get Rossos Gemini 2s for DenbyDarts. The services Rosso uses on them have 0 passengers. I think that would be a decent upgrade. I do feel bad that they renovated those enviros just for them to be on the edge of over capacity for the majority of the day. With the CEO vanishing, whoever in charge may end up being more willing to use deckers. If you look at the CEOs past company, in a city which has some of the highest bus usage outside of London, they seem to combat over capacity with a frequency increase, instead of deckers. With the state of the company at the moment what would be the cheapest option? Which new CEO are you talking of? Henri Rohard? I can only see that he has worked for Transdev.

Unbelievably both short and long ( Pudsey ) trips ran today for a few hours. Until one parked up down a side road off the ring rd for a “rest” at least ! These that you see parked up, are they on the 30, or are they on school runs in the area? On the 30. Pretty much always one parked up on the ring road with No. 30 on the desti. One of them could frequently be found parked at the bus stop near KFC, before the roadworks commenced.

Just seen 35621 at Rodley Roundabout on a 16 (not 16A), tracking on bustimes as heading to Pudsey, but quite late. Strange. Edit: looks like Farsley Town Street is closed on Google Maps. Edit #2: 35267 is now in Calverley! (Image attached). Attachments:

They were both, of course rammed; especially now with the extra custom from 508 passengers. Had to stand next to the driver, desperately clinging onto my new Adrian Smith Jackson San Dimas and get on and off everytime the doors opened! Out of interest can the Presidents not run into Leeds because of the clean air zone in Shipley? This was Easter holidays so should have been plenty available.
