Just wondering if anyone knows that the route change is to the 148? Just concerned it’s going to be rerouted away from my village. Thanks in advance I work for Wakefield depot and there's nothing about any changes atm, once we get a notice for us drivers I'll let you know what they're doing with it.

We the introduction of the new 60A I wouldn't be surprised to see Yorkshire Buses amending the no9 route not to serve Carveley Lane, Leeds & Bradford road and go back to going straight down coal hill lane into Rodley.

The end-to-end timings for the 9 seem pretty tight at the moment, with the new routing around Horsforth Vale (especially the difficult task of having to get back out onto the ring road), and Calverley Lane. This would save a few minutes.

The new 60 and 60A times are now on the Metro website. Looks like the circuit which does Keighley - Leeds - Shipley - Leeds - Keighley will get close to the driving hours limit, so may prove unreliable especially given the many traffic hotspots on the route.

The new frequency looks promising. Let's hope it's not just something that vanishes whenever the funding runs out.

Irritating that they've put them on different pages. I wonder if they've looked at how many people will have a better service compared with the number who will have a worse 20/40 service.

Aye, I was speaking from a purely selfish point of view, with my stop being the last one before the split (Harrison's corner). Either way it will certainly feel odd going up Coal Hill Lane on a Keighley bus!

Ok, the thread has been tidied up.
If you wish to continue the discussion about bus services to Leeds Bradford Airport, the parkway station or anything related to that, please use the new thread in the UK Transport section where the posts from here have been moved to.
I don't mind threads going a little off topic, like the discussion higher up about Stagecoach dead mileage from Barnsley, but if we could try to keep it from going so far off topic it's in another county, that would be appreciated!

The frequency increase is welcome, I've been on some busy services recently between Shipley and Leeds. It's a shame the funding wasn't enough to allow the full route to be increased, but the Keighley - Shipley section is probably harder to justify the increased costs. It looks like 9 buses will be required off peak, so an increase of 2 on the present PVR.

From Yorkshire Buses Facebook:
Service 9 Change from 4th September
With the introduction of new service 60A serving Calverley Lane service 9 will revert to its direct route along Coal Hill Lane.
Buses will slo run roughly 5 minutes later than now throughout to allow for changes to college times.

Yorkshire Buses is actually one of the few operators I know that modify their timetable or route to co-operate with another operators. Would have been useful for Southowram residents if South Pennine retimed the HX3 when Arriva retimed the 571 when they took it over.

I wonder what happened to the idea of running the 60A via Idle and Wrose. That would create some very interesting new travel links. I hope they still try that at some point.

Need to learn lessons, especially around the shambolic app. not just the app though. They need more reliable motors and to be honest with potential operators if the data in the tender is massively wrong like proven.

Think I'll be the only person to miss it.
Hopefully as the data shows both the City Centre & St James was the 2 most popular destinations they look at how to improve scheduled bus links to both if/when more funding becomes available

Does anybody know of any changes for Calderdale and Bradford in September 2023, I swear most of the contracts were due to expire this year. Surely there would be some timetable change in certain contracts or new operators possibly winning them over.

Wasn't it said previously the Calderdale contracts have been extended to coincide with the new bus station fully opening?

It's noticeable no operators cancelled then re-registered any routes so either the contract dates have changed/been delayed or they got more notice than normal that all routes will remain with the current operators. It's possible as the Mayor asked for no cuts before September (although First ignored that) that WYCA & Operators are in discussions what extra routes/areas will be requiring support so they can adjust the tendered route network as needed before awarding them out.

I know it's a long shot of a question to ask but does anyone know when metro/arriva will release their September timetable change information?
