As somebody who has always been interested in extremes, I was surprised to note that in these latest timetable changes there is a new very late departure from Halifax Bus Station. The 571 from Brighouse to Stoney Lane departs at 2345, arriving at Stoney Lane at 0016 - this must certainly be the last back to the depot! Not too sure how many passengers will be on this trip during these current times? That is a late journey for Halifax in recent times, especially when not even the 503 and 576 run as late as 2300. Oddly Metro show it as only running on a Saturday, while First show it as 6 days a week. For many years (before the last revamp creating the 561/562 circulars) the last bus from Halifax was the 2325 from Halifax to Commons, which once came in useful to me on its trip back towards Halifax (though only to its last stop in West Vale).

Talking about the 571, I'm curious how those late journeys are turning around at Stoney Lane, i'm guessing they are looping around via Stoney Lane itself (a road not normally served by public buses) and not actually serving the timing point at the Sun Inn shown in the timetable

No,turning right off Greenfield Ave , then right on Smith House Lane and picking up Aysgarth ave like the 686 does ,no evening journeys to Bradford anymore ,all terminate at Stony Lane. .
