They're also making more substantial changes from the 8th November to the following services. As I predicted earlier, the axe will fall and boy it has. I'll start off with the nicer one first lol.
Services 14, 19 and 19A and X14 - These services see some journeys axed. Highlights include the 19A seeing it's mid evening journey axed, X14 axed from Pudsey to Leeds in that direction in the afternoon and almost all Owlcoates journeys axed.
Service 16 - Massive cuts Monday to Friday daytime. Through workings between Whinmoor and Pudsey will run every 15 mins from the AM peak to the end of PM peak supplemented by short workings between Seacroft and Bramley maintaining a high frequency on that section of route.
Service 56 - now this is weird so listen very carefully. Through workings will run every 15 mins between Whinmoor and Moor Grange in the AM peak up until around half 9, then through workings run every 10 mins until mid afternoon. From mid afternoon through to the end of the evening peak, those through workings run every 15 mins again. Short workings will run between Seacroft and Headingley to maintain a high frequency on that section. The X56 will also see time changes.
X26 and X27 see frequency cuts, both running hourly each, but combining to form a half hourly service
The 15 and 55C are to see changes as well

I assume you mean Swarcliffe rather than Seacroft for the 56?

Same with the 56. Looks to be a logical redeployment of buses to strengthen the busier bits a the expense of the quieter bits.

Well I did say the high frequency will be maintained in the central section, and going from a 10 minute to a 15 minute frequency is a massive cut in my view, especially as you're waiting longer should one miss which I can easily see happening.

well if, as the media are suggesting, we go into lockdown next week, there must be a big cut back in services. running empty buses around cant be economic.

But most people on the busiest section have an increase so overall it’s an improvement. Just seems a bit ‘tabloid’ to sensationalise a massive cut and dismiss the frequency increase as ‘maintaining the high frequency’.

I suppose with the new lockdown they are going to start 5th November, that operators will cut back again.

I suppose with the new lockdown they are going to start 5th November, that operators will cut back again. So far, Transdev have said that they will continue to run the normal timetables. I think that with kids at school, more people likely to be at work than we had in the spring and fewer restrictions on travel, demand is likely to hold up better than it did before ... although whether the restrictions that are coming in will be sufficient is anybody's guess!

They're claiming from the covid bus fund which stipulates 100% of pre Covid mileage, until that changes they're not going to change much.

Be interesting to see how S68's, S11 and S10 where the workings come from, as I'm guessing the vehicles used for SW1, SW2 and CL1 could be used on some of these, but we'll have to wait and see. potentially but looking at the proposals it means a hell of planning challenge as it looks like a fair number of the running boards are going to have to be tweaked in terms of Wakefield and Castleford routes where as the North Kirklees ones are deffo been covered by the usual school buses. From what I've seen on Bus Times Stephen, S10: is covered by a bus from the first X60 service. (1415) today S11: is covered by a bus from the a 411 circuit, the bus that the S11 dupes is a bus from the depot to work the 822 to Chequerfield with the S11 behind it. then the S11 bus returns to Castleford dead to start a run on the 411 circuit as a normal service. (1971 on the S11 today) (The normal bus to do 822 to Chequerfield was 1955 which came from depot) S68: is a bus from the 189 and then goes back on to the 189 after S68. (1981 today) Then you have the first 411 of the day doing a 411 to Chequerfield then a 410 to Leeds then a 189 to Wakefield and a 189 return to Cast. in which it looks to sit there at Castleford perhaps to do an afternoon duplicate service. (1455 on this board today0 Then you have a bus off the 164 doing a 410 to Chequerfield then a 411 to Cas then going on the 189s. (1958 on this board) Looks like they put a lot of planning into this, very interesting and perhaps they had a challenge in planning it! The first X60 bus always did the CL1 and SW2 service before the timetable change

The 55C and 15 timetables are now on the Metro website, and it's strange news. You'd have thought that the 15 would be reduced between Leeds and Cross Green for the quiet part of the off peak, 2 hourly would suit it well between those points, say from 9am to 1pm as I've never seen anybody on it during those times. TBH, even the peak service isn't that well used as I've often passed a 15 coming from Cross Green around 4pm running nearly empty. But oh no, they've kept the frequency up there. Now, you're probably wondering what instead could be done with the buses not running the full route, well let's extend them to Holbeck to provide extra capacity that way. Yes folks, the 55C will become HOURLY, meaning lots of people queuing for up to half an hour on Park Row between journeys on the 75 at 28 and 58 mins past each hour so, why haven't they robbed from the 15 to cover some short workings on the busier section of the 55C, after all journey time will be around the same time.
Now, going off topic to save other folk going off topic, just in case I get the the daft question from folk not familiar with the area, that question being 'why don't people walk it', I shall answer it now. Yes many bus users can physically walk to Holbeck Moor, however it depends on the following. How much it is raining, what you're carrying, how fast you can walk, how far you are able to walk, and are one of the many criminals hanging about ready to do you in. Recently, someone going to work was stabbed at 6am on Holbeck Moor, and there has been a massive spate of people being followed, attacked, mugged etc at all hours of the day throughout Beeston and Holbeck over the past few years, be it daytime with people around or night time. Now, picture this, you've picked up a package that shouldn't get wet, it starts raining, you're average walking pace is just average, say taking 20 to 30 mins to reach Holbeck Brown Lane from Leeds. That's a long time for a package that shouldn't get wet, not to mention you getting wet. So if you're thinking the loss of a 55C leading to a massive half hour gap will isn't really a big thing as people should walk it, I hope I've explained it to you.
Oh and forgot to add, the 15 will see a near duplicate on it's first journey of the day between Leeds and Cross Green.

Is the Logic Park leg of the 15 not financially supported by Amazon, and thus maybe a contractual obligation to provide? I assumed it must be.

I think it's supported by Amazon. To assist with getting staff into and out of the warehouse. So cannot really do much. I mean they are happy to pay for this bus service but god forbid they actually pay the 10's of billions of pounds of tax they owe the UK government. But that is another story, for a different thread, on a different day.

Oh well, chances are then Holbeck won't get those journeys back then lol, I was going to use that angle should locals set up a campaign group like they did with the number 1 but if Amazon are paying for the 15, then that angle is well stuffed. I don't live far from Cottingley and took the liberty of nipping down there to see what people thought, put it this way, there wasn't a positive thought with a few people rightly pointing out that Metro have wasted money on a consultation about improvements for bus stops on the estate when there soon won't be a useable service lol.

Given that this is the Leeds enterprise park and would've already been practically connected by the PR2. Amazon and all out of town large businesses need to make their sites as accessible as possible, otherwise they wont attract the staff. They'll (or Logic park management) will probably be funding the extension.

I’m puzzled what the link is between the 55C going hourly and the 15 not seeing any change Well the 15 between Leeds and Cross Green isn't well used where as services from Leeds up to Holbeck are all well used (except the 65 from Leeds which follows a 75) and with one 55C an hour withdrawn, that leaves a big gap of half an hour between the 75 at 28 mins past, and the 75 at 58 mins past. I found it strange that they'd keep the under used 15 off peak between Leeds and Cross Green where as the 55C had it's service reduced to hourly meaning that massive gap on the well used section between Leeds and Holbeck. I know the 55C was under used from the Evangelical Church to Cottingley, but surely something could run on the busier section, and I was thinking extending the 15 up to Holbeck instead of Cross Green would be better. I now understand the logic in keeping the under used bus 15 section from Leeds to Cross Green if Amazon are paying for it. I think re-timing the 65 to run 15 mins earlier from Leeds wouldn't really help as it probably would mean the return journeys to Leeds, which are currently spaced quite well between the two 75 journeys, would run close to one of the 75 journeys meaning the gap happens the opposite way.

Amazon and all out of town large businesses need to make their sites as accessible as possible, otherwise they wont attract the staff. They'll (or Logic park management) will probably be funding the extension. Across the country Amazon are very pro-active in providing public transport links to their sites from both local areas and from further afield to widen the area they can recruit from - this is unlike many businesses in similar locations who are often, at best, ambivalent about such links even where they don't need to provide any financial input themselves (most similar warehouse based businesses are almost entirely car based and any non-car based provision comes from employment agencies trying to get their staff to the sites as part of a staff provision contract). All 4 of the Amazon sites local to my employers operations have multiple route networks linking to them by a combination of both dedicated stand-alone services and diverted/extended normal scheduled services (though some may be at their biggest in the peak periods such as the run up to Christmas when extra staff are needed).

I am confused about the 65. In the Good Ol' Days it was broadly a 10-minute frequency from Leeds towards Holbeck on the 54/55, 65 and 75 combined. An hourly 65 is annoying if you live in Beeston and want to go to the White Rose Centre (it's easier to get there from Brackenwood!) but if the 54/55 has been dropped then you think they'd do better with the spacing, at least.
