I'm wondering when we'll start to see AYL buses other than E200 types repainted into the new livery.
When in Liverpool I'm noticing quite a variety of buses types repainted in the ANW fleet.
Hats off to Arriva for the new styling. I actually quite like the new light blue livery. With just a single base colour and stuck on stripes/decals I'm guessing it must be far quicker and cheaper to apply than the First and Stagecoach regular liveries. Less reels of masking tape too! Cost savings hopefully help keep fares more stable.
However, I'm a little surprised by the choice of AYL buses for repaint. Unless of course the chosen examples have had body work following accident damage.
Some of the Eclipses are looking a bit untidy (esp 1104) and many of the original "intraurban" paintwork Geminis have white showing through on the top of the bodywork "smile" under the windscreen. I would have thought these would be prime candidates, especially with Spectras and 52 plate Lowlanders still on hand at Belle Isle and Heckmondwike to cover.
I'm thinking back to the Caldaire/British Bus days in the period twenty to thirty years ago. Across all depots there was always at least one or two buses away for repaint. I wonder, do they still allow for that when deciding allocation numbers or is there a perhaps a general allowance for some buses being off the road?

Don't go to the North East then, as they are still repainting buses into old MAX livery

Surely Heckmondwike's 11XX are next in line, these would look good in the new livery - also they due a refurb inside !

Slightly off topic.... noticed a repainted train today with "Northern from arriva". Arriva in the new style lettering but no arriva logo new or old.
I was beginning to think that the may have ditched the idea of using the new logo/lettering style given the number of new buses delivered in the new livery but old logo. It's going to potentially look a bit shabby if they peel off the fleetnames and replace with new ones. Even if they come off without damaging the paintwork, there's always a less faded area where old logo was. The 1700 eviros prime example.

1053 fresh in new light blue livery, the Max base livery was quite short lived. Thanks Kev. Is 1053 one of the E200s that was put into a livery similar to max but without the middle thinner, lighter swoop? I think there were at least couple in that style. They do seem to be cracking on with re-painting them now.

Yes it was one of those , 2 at Dewsbury and the 3 at Wakefield got painted into " max livery " - the repaints seem to be concentrated on the E200's at the min

The commanders would look better when they get round to receiving the new paint jobs as the old livery on some of them has seen better days and needs a refresh
