Well yes but if they are short on buses there is nothing they can do at the end of the day. There is no point bringing buses in from elsewhere for ONE Day. What would you say if First didn't have the resources to manage one of their 30minute frequencies?

Well they CAN get buses easily for nothing. No they will have a proper back up plan to deal with vehicle shortages. It's what you will find is in place at any company public or private which is run in a competent manner. The older the age of the fleet the more prone it will become to breakdown and failure. Therefore the more spares are required to cover for these problems and the more this will cost compared to those fleets of which run more modern buses. Unfortunately the HJC business model doesn't seem to recognise this potential problem, but don't worry we will remind you about it and any other problems they might encounter on a regular basis. It is a pity that HJC suffer these problems but don't forget there are a lot of very competent and extremely well run small independent operators in West Yorkshire who don't suffer the same problems that HJC appear to suffer from.

They were only paid a one off fee to keep the service running instead of stopping it completely. Translation: Dont you try and have a dig at my beloved HJC. I'll tell my mum if you do it again. Still contractually bound to provide the service are they not? This is what annoys me about Metro, they bang on about how passengers want reliable services but fail to take any action against operators who fail to run their services as timetabled. I'm no fan of HJC but they certainly aren't the only operator in West Yorkshire that is supplying bad service day in day out.

MCW Metrobuses BYX 248V & KYV 643X are now withdrawn. Which now leaves KYO 624X, B162 WUL & B217 WUL.

It was good to see al 3 remaining Metrobuses on all day service today around Halifax. We must enjoy these 'vintage' (ie 25 years+) whilst they are still around - because I would be surprised if they are still running in 2011.

I think you will find that M624 will be running until around 2020.

Yes, it is good mechanically and it will be permitted after 2017 because of the 75% low floor mark.

I like to think that one Metrobus will still be running around in 10 year's time - but I very much doubt it. You may remember that at the beginning of this year there were 10 in stock and certain enthusiasts were trying to convince us that nothing would happen for years ...............

What are the chances of HJC using a vehicle in service for the next year with an overall advert for a Plymouth taxi firm?

2/5 Chance I'd say. I think the contravision will get peeled off the windows first because you can't see anything through it apart from fungus in the holes.

What are the chances of HJC using a vehicle in service for the next year with an overall advert for a Plymouth taxi firm? If it costs any money to repaint, then more than likely about a year or so given past performance!

They can't just take buses off the road, they already have a bus shortage. They will have to wait until the college have a Holiday until they can send them off for repaint or buy some new buses.

Ive finally twigged what HJC really are. They really shouldnt be judged with scorn or dismissed as "The poor relation of WY bus operators". There latest purchases prove what they really are, thats WYs Premier "HERITAGE", bus operators.

The Olympian looks to be on a rather busy route through a densely populated area.

OMG! They've now forgotten what paint looks like! Ere, I'm sure we were supposed to do something with those bottom pannels, I think we did something similar before to a bus, can't quite remember what it was though. Oh hang on a mo, we've re-named ourselves citibus, is this some kind of effort to shake off our crap image?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt at the moment as we know bus availability is tight at the moment. But PVR is lower at weekends, so if this vehicle still has Citybus fleetnames on Monday, and the Dial-a-Cab one still has the contravision on Monday, then HJC really need to have a look at themselves.

HJC are only fulfilling their timetable requirements. Lets not have another go at them for their buses being in the wrong livery - would you rather timetable requirements weren't met so that the buses were painted into fleet livery/deliveried of previous adverts and brandings?
Give them some slack on this one as WYB said.
