Thanks very for the information on the Volvo demonstrtor, G547 VBB - I find this really interesting. This weight saving of at least 500 kg (half a ton in us oldies eyes) should make a difference in both fuel consunption and performance.

Just a bit of progress on this, the ALX 300's could be going as the manager has been to office (dont know if its bell isle office or Arriva head office) to ask for some replacements at Hecky as they are costing too mutch to keep in servise (only 10K a month per bus apparently) and they want rid of them ASAP. I dont know if they have asked for new buses, second hand or swap between depots but they have only asked so far. Is there a new General Manager at Heckmondwike now? I ask because the recent edition of the Selby Depot Newsletter talks of their New General Manager and I'm sure that he used to be at Heckmondwike Not that I know of Colin Newbury is the manager at Heckmondwike he's been there for a while. www.arrivabus.co.uk/content.aspx?id=9073 that news story was posted in Feb so unless he has left after that he should still be there!

I thought it was Heckmondwike where Colin HAD BEEN the General Manager. It is Colin who was names as the NEW Selby General Manager in the News Letter displayed in the Selby Enquiry Office Window Yesterday

I cannot imagine Castleford would want to give up any of the Tempos. Would look more likely that some more of the Spectra's would transfer. I thought the only people looking forward to the receipt of those lovely ALX300's were those Guy's just South of the boarder maybe in a few years time

Does this mean that Dewsbury and Castleford also share a General Manager?

No Dewsbury's General Manager is Steven Ottley. Arriva class him as a 'role model' as he trains all of Arriva Yorkshire's inspectors and he also bagged Dewsbury Depot an Investors in People status. Funnily enough he started out at Castleford as a operations manager. Mary Lowrey is Wakefield's General Manager but they have more staff then the other depots.

Anyone seem this demonstrator recently? It has migrated to the land of glass and home of the mighty rugby team, The Saints (of course I'm being sarcastic on the last point, it may offend some members!). markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/p64146284.html
