I went passed heckmondwike depot this morning (15/02/2010) and noticed parked up there was a white stock liveried Eclipse 2 parked up with paper destination blinds any one know anything about it. I believe its from arriva bus and coach, Gomersal. I think it is the same vehicle as in the photo on the link below. www.arrivabusandcoach.co.uk/details.asp?ProductID=182

I saw a white Eclipse single decker in Leeds this afternoon about 4ish heading to Wakefield on the 254. Looked to be a VDL Pulsar as it certainly didnt sound like a Volvo

I have been talking to my friend who is at hecky and he said it is a volvo demo bus fleet no 2222 with a rumour going around saying that after all the work done to the ALX300's, they are not happy with the slownes getting worse (some of them not getting up hills and stalling) and something to do with eco-mrg not sure what that is I think its something do with how its working Arriva are wanting to get rid the ALX 300's. (not sure how true this is)

It was in Leeds this morning at 8.15 but I could,nt see what route, it disappeared towards Aire Street and it was carring a small Arriva logo over the drivers cab window.if Arriva are,nt happy with the referbbed ALX 300s would they all go ? I remember when they were first bulit the ALX 300s seemed to suffer from the hand brakes locking on ,I don,t think they were one of the best buys by Arriva Yorkshire specially with fish tank windows.

Could the pulsar be on loan while they get the Urbans repainted as these are the only vehicles at Heckmondwike to get repainted and also it seems it is on the 254 set of routes mainly which aren't a DAF Alexander ALX300 routes?
Also is seemed to have a fully working destinsation screen.

Also is seemed to have a fully working destinsation screen. There was a rumour when the repainting programme began that the Urbans would be last to be treated. Secondly there are 13 branded Urbans at Heckmondwike and only 12 are required inter peak for the 254/5, so one should be available. Third option the Urbans were from a cancelled order hence the old livery, could they be moving on and Heckmondwike are testing out some other options

It is carrying Volvo legals and is register BG59 FWP
Looks very much like the two Volvo demonstrators which were at Castleford during 2008 1094 & 1095
It was in Leeds this afternoon on the 16:05ish departure on 254 to Wakefield. Must be keeping out of Halifax.....

Looks like Heckmodwike are keeping it out of Halifax then.
The two Volvo demonstrators which were on loan at Castleford in 2008 were nearly always on the same running boards everyday. I wonder if Heckmondwike are doing the same which would also mean no Sunday working and tucked up by 19:00 every night

I wonder if they are testing out the fuel economy on one certain route for a period of time?

... tucked up by 19:00 every night Well it was returning to the garage last evening around 17.25 when I saw it in Heckmondwike again. It had finished its 254 run at Cleckheaton at 17.20. Maybe it would be tucked up even earlier on this occasion.

What exactly is this bus?, is it a Wright Pulsar body on a Volvo B7RLE chassis or a prototype for a smaller Volvo engine. I was behind it the other day and i agree it dosent sound like a typical B7RLE, but it didnt sound like a VDL SB220 engine either.
