They will be sold on, nothing is scrapped unless of a good reason. Check eBay at some point and they'll surface eventually.

Doesn't matter how big or small they are, anyone seriously thinking about selling up to that man will regret it afterwards. People gave him plenty of chances only to blow every single one of them.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Appeals usually take a few months.
Doesn't seem likely that it'd be successful anyway. The TC easily caught them with buying another operating license just to keep going.

Seems SGI are still being delusional despite the fact that they have been banned from operating buses and there's no chance the owner wil get his hands on a license after that whole mess.

Said person made a new account, who knows what happened to the old one.
Is this related to the guy who apparently went around in a hi-vis with a SGI logo taped on it?
Also apologies to Craig for having to edit my previous post. Whatever is acceptable works best.

Has anyone tried contacting Metro, DVSA or the Traffic Commissioner's office about all this? Surely the TC will have to take notice now?
The fact that Metro has stayed silent on an operator not running services or ceasing trading or whatever they want to call it is rather strange.
Perhaps the Government needs to revise rules about the Section 22 Community Bus Permits .... that SGI were using.

If Yorkshire Buses Ltd submits an actual standard license application with the same SGI names, I would expect quite an amount of objections sent to the Traffic Commissioner in response, and whether a license application should happen will need to be determined at a Public Inquiry. However, seeing as many operators get to stick it to the many people they've caused problems with and start phoenix companies anyway, probably not.
The whole thing is a mess, and I am merely someone who wants to air my views on this. Nobody is truly getting the full story here, one person says this and the other says that. What's the real situation and what happens next? Even Metro has stayed silent on this and they're the ones who publish all the timetables and other information. So what about anyone who actually uses SGI, waits at a bus stop, and it doesn't come? Metro should have announced something by now but nothing has come.

So that's the current position right now according to this tweet that has been made to people who have asked what is going on. Who knows what'll happen next.

If that was the plan, they would have said something on their Twitter, which has been quiet since the 1st of April.

Someone's in the wrong here to have caused a mess, but who? Metro or SGI themselves? Where's the other operators that complain about Metro not giving them what they should be getting?
The company isn't doing themselves a good favour here. Well known for registering services and then not giving them a chance, even the ones that do end up being successful end up getting dropped anyway. Plus their free return nonsense isn't helping them at all. How's that going to help if you won't accept Metro products despite plastering excessive stickers over your buses saying that they're accepted?
The Traffic Commissioner needs to look at this company and take action of some sort. Others have been pulled up at PI in no time. Some companies start up and don't even last a year.

Indeed, things really don't need to be messed around. Services take a while to populate, a few months at least. If things aren't looking good after say, six months, then change them around. Build on routes first, then move to others.
Certainly, there were routes that worked and routes that didn't. Putting services on that aren't on a regular clock-face timetable always was going to be a bad move, times need to stick and not change every single run. Doing things like cancelling the 269 when it was getting used was another bad move. Instead of all these services, they should have just focused on a few and kept them regular to encourage people to use them.
Of course, we're all forum fools anyway. Our opinions do not matter, all we do is upset the company with what we say.

The Scania Y48HHE now has a dark blue front, seen on the 278 this morning. Its probably been done to make people think a MAX liveried bus is arriving. Doesn't look like a MAX livery to me. At least they're actually painting buses now.

The guy in the hi-vis with the logo taped on it sounds hilarious.
The Twitter also tweeted out the wrong number to a council wanting support because of their issues with Metro. An account related to the company also had a go at someone for mentioning a driver's name over a service that did not show up and is pretty much insulting anyone who replies to anything that account says.
Also apparently they've had issues with the fleet and are getting replacements which is whatever is on eBay it seems. DAF SB220 Icarus T826 GSE has been purchased.
Obviously slagging off the company in the past seems to cause problems with some people but really, it is ridiculous to think how they have escaped the eyes of the Traffic Commissioner. Sort your own issues out first before trying to cause issues with others. Desperation at its finest.

no problem
we get a few passengers wanting to board with prams, and occasionally an enquiry about wheel chairs, so recently we bought P509 from HJC. We'll put that out for a bit, after a coat of paint and a deep clean.
The numbers on the 22 service are ok, not enough to fill a decker, but we knew that from the start. What concerns me at the moment is that as good as the Spectras are, they're not low floor hence the switch to more suitable vehicles. The service was started using what we had, the service is proving successful, so we are buying something more suitable to run on it.
We are awaiting delivery of an old solo that we're buying from Dawsons. It was bought just for a little school run we do, but would do very well on the service. We have an Enviro on loan whilst the Solo is prepped for us, but that won't be going on service, due to its' white livery and the fact that it is worth a fortune and I don't want it damaging So it does 8 miles a day, and gets parked in the corner of the yard wrapped in cotton wool.
At least you are doing well with your service, starting up very slowly and working on things step by step. Hopefully things continue to be good.

There are so many more profitable bus corridors that they could focus on. 202/3, 229 etc. are all crying our for competition. 289 was doomed to failure. Yes but people complain all they do is cherry pick Arriva routes and run them without any changes, supposedly 289 had some original parts in the journey?

SGI will be running more services in August including a 283 that has been mentioned on their website which is being redone. The altered X81 renumbered the 289 begins on Saturday.
Surely they should just keep to their existing services for now to avoid another incident? Doesn't matter if the vehicle problem is sorted, if they expand too quickly things could go wrong again.

The StreetLite that was with the company before disappearing due to returning all rental vehicles MK63 XAM has resurfaced as part of a bunch of them on loan from Mistral to First Buses of Somerset: www.flickr.com/photos/benbeaver95/14448087837That should close that matter of whatever happened to that particular bus, as all of the SGI fleet is now bought and paid for, with the W-CWX B6BLEs going into service over the next few weeks hopefully.
