I've pulled out some old timetables - the 255 ran to Brighouse between 26/01/08 and 25/04/09 so only for just over a year
Halifax was served by the 227 (Halifax to Heckmondwike) during this period

New timetable now on Arriva site for 408/409 reduced service between Pontefract and Kirk Smeaton and Thorpe Audlin. Also extra journeys on the new 51 service.

With the possible withdrawal of the 571, I bet South Pennine invest in a bigger vehicle for the HX1 and introduce more journeys. A tender is currently out seeking a replacement operator for the 571. Just noticed Arriva have added this as a new contract to the list of service changes on their site. They've also got the tender the former CT Plus 377/8 routes.

Arriva have also won the 571 from Halifax to Shelf Really odd choice for Arriva to go for the 571 and 377/8. I get the 377/8 as Arriva have now become more noticeable in Huddersfield operating 3 more routes and soon to be six than they did back when it was just 202, 203, 220 and 229.

Nobody would have guessed the 571 going to Arriva
It’s got gaps on schooldays so looks to be interworking with the C48 School Service, which is the first time these school runs they picked up in Halifax last year have not just run dead to/from the depot

571 to Arriva I didn’t see that coming, if only it could extend a little further to say Wibsey roundabout to maintain the Brighouse link from Wibsey and also maintain the connection to Little Horton/St Luke’s Hospital with a change onto the 640/641, but it looks like the timetable is designed to just use 2 vehicles.

Bit of a messy new registration from First. Possibly a merging of the 615/616/619 and Bradford-Fagley section of the 686/687.
PB0000815/1023 Registered FIRST WEST YORKSHIRE LTD Route: Bradford Interchange, Bradford Hall Ings to (602) Manor Road Airedal. (603) Smith Lane Conistone Grove, (604) Fagley via 602 VIA Saffron Drive, 603 VIA Allerton Road Four Lane Ends, 604 Via Undercliffe Lane Service number: 602 (603, 604) Service type: Normal Stopping Effective date: 02 Oct 2022 Monday - Sunday

Transdev York are moving depots in the next 6 months from Fulford to Rawcliffe Bar (Next to the P&R) so will be a bit less mileage for us. I will ask my manager for more confirmation the next time I see him. Transdev advertising for new drivers to run the X98/X99 services from next month. Website does state that the drivers would be based at York depot. www.transdevbus.co.uk/harrogate/now-recruiting-skyclass-x98x99-ps3000-welcome-bonus

I’m a driver for Transdev at York and I can confirm the X98/X99 will be run by York depot as it increases our work which is good news for our depot.

Handpicked drivers in the press release.
Now throwing £3,000 at licence holders to join.
Fantastic spin.

Hello,
I`d like to ask if anyone can confirm that the Arriva bus service 186 which runs hourly currently past my house here in Altofts between Wakefield and Pontefract via Castleford is actually been withdrawn after 6pm?.
I have looked at the WY Metro website to check the new October timetable and it seems that there wont be any buses at all after 6pm, which means that anyone in the village of Altofts or round the Lee Brigg area wont have any public transport in the evening.
If anyone can confirm my enquiry i`d sure appreciate it.
Cheers,
Bryan.

Just looked myself and it's crazy that somewhere the size of Altofts doesn't currently have any form of evening service and will even see reductions to whatever remains of a post 6pm service when the 147 sees it's last journeys cut. How close is Altofts walking wise to the nearest alternative?

How close is Altofts walking wise to the nearest alternative? Depending where abouts in Altofts your starting from it would probably be a 15-20min walk to Normanton
