Conversely, 3 weeks ago I rode a President on route K9 and there was hardly anyone else on it. Yeah it just doesn't make sense. Services such as 502, 662, B3, 67 and 662 are more deserving of double decker capacity. Yes I am aware that 67 runs through Spring Bank but they should have just rerouted K15 to serve it instead of sending a busy route via that way so it can't have deckers. Up until recently, they were running a minibus on the 67 route on Friday night and Sunday daytime — commonsense seems to have prevailed, or maybe there were complaints, so there seems to be single deckers these days, (Sunday afternoon’s trips interwork with the 62 so that's the answer of that )

The only Shuttle I have been on that's not had a standing load is during a Sunday or evening but even those buses can get busy sometimes.

I would say double deckers, but Transdev for some strange reason is only sensible enough to bring deckers in for a service if it is completely overloaded on every trip! Still buying brand new single deckers for the Shuttle. Conversely, 3 weeks ago I rode a President on route K9 and there was hardly anyone else on it. Is a President/decker on the K9 a regular thing? Could it interwork with a school service if so?

A better idea, possibly, would have been using the B1 Stanbury bus, would keep an hourly service to Spring Bank but would allow deckers on the 67. The only issue would be 1 of 3 Haworth buses per hour going a different route and whether the time needed to go that way would preclude it being operated by the same bus all day. And that they usually use double deckers on the B1-B3 when there's large events at Haworth.

Or maybe they could turn the K11 into a looped service with an alternate service running clockwise to serve Spring Bank.

Double Deckers have also been used on the 662 when Bradford City have a home match in the midweek, Sundays & Bank Holidays as well

They have added quite a decent amount of extra journeys but it is still beyond silly with the amount of overcrowding. It's getting worse and worse. It's not even emptying out at Waterloo, you can have standing loads all the way to Kirkburton, and on rarer occasions all the way to Skelmanthrope. The D1 really is suffering from success...

I dont know why nothing is been done about it.its unbearable most of the journeys now.no double deckers in sight just the small buses wouldnt mind them every 20 mins rather than 30 mins.

They should get Rossos 24xxs off the Rochdale Runners and send them to Waterloo for Denby Darts, the vast majority carry air!

The 24xx are used on the Runners as they interwork with School Services what they do need the capacity for, although they will probably be available to move from next spring.

The Eclipse 2s do well enough! It depends route to route on if they require a DD or SD, that will be down to the capacity requirement in the routes tender. I Believe the DD requirements for Rochdale contracts is 8 with 10 currently being allocated (6 E400s & 4 Geminis) so sometimes when all DDs are running they might fill in for SD.
