Actually there's another Blazefield change From 23 August the FLYER A1 frequency will reduce from three to two an hour 20/40 min gap. This could provide buses 20 minutes apart between Bradford and Leeds Bradford Airport. It's a temporary timetable due to staffing, 36 reduced too. Cityzap & Coaster Coastliner affected too.

The 1B used to run from town to Headingley as a separate service to the 1, are we now going to see it merging into the 1 timetable whereby some service 1 journeys to and from Beeston run as service 1B during university terms? I can see some people South of the river letting this go not knowing it's the same as a 1. Well, that's very odd - the downloadable timetable for the 1/1B from 6th September lists Headingley Campus as a timing point, but has no services calling there. Something not quite right there, methinks! I imagine the ones from beeston that currently terminate at albion street may well extend to the Headingley campus in place of the old stand alone 1B service

Have some sympathy for people in Kirkheaton and Upper Heaton at the moment, as the information seems to be confusing in regards to the evening journeys following the weekend's changes. Metro's Changing Times booklet for September 2021 states that Arriva will introduce "additional Monday to Saturday late evening journeys will operate, replacing evening 262 journeys currently operated by First." However, the Metro timetable on their website has all of the 262 journeys in place (from Huddersfield at 1943 and 2156 weekdays, 1950 and 2156 Saturdays and 1905 and 2005 Sundays). The First Huddersfield and bustimes.org websites both list the 262 as just running on Sunday evenings at its existing times of 1905 and 2005 from Huddersfield. However, the vehicle tracking on bustimes.org states that there was a 2156 service on the 262 on Saturday evening, the same day that Arriva's 261 timetable changed. To make things more confusing, the First 262 route is unchanged, running along Grosvenor Road, which is also the current 261 route, rather than along the new Transdev 262 route via Waterloo Road, which is the former 262 route before it was re-routed via Grosvenor Road. Metro's South Kirklees Map only mentions the 262 running via Waterloo Road and makes no reference to First running the 262 on the service list. So, it would appear there are technically four different services serving Kirkheaton and Upper Heaton now: - 261 (Arriva): Huddersfield-Cleckheaton via Grosvenor Road, Kirkheaton, Upper Heaton, Mirfield and Heckmondwike (daytime plus early Monday-Saturday evenings)
- 262 (Team Pennine): Huddersfield-Upper Heaton via Waterloo Road and Kirkheaton (Monday-Saturday daytime)
- 262 (First): Huddersfield-Upper Heaton via Grosvenor Road and Kirkheaton (evenings - just don't know which days)
- 371 (First): Lindley-Upper Heaton via Huddersfield, Moldgreen, Rawthorpe, Dalton and Kirkheaton (2238 from Lindley Monday-Saturdays)

Does the confusion lie because it was quite likely Saturday was the first day of Arriva’s new timetable and the last day of First’s timetable, due to First changing timetables on Sundays and Arriva (West) always changing on Saturdays?

Metro have posted some school service operator changes in Calderdale and Kirklees from September C6 (Crossley Heath) Travel Express to Fourway Coaches C47 (Brighouse) First to Fourway Coaches NH4 (North Halifax) First to Fourway Coaches PL2 (Park Lane) First to Fourway Coaches All these have now been deleted from Metro's website, and bustimes confirms they are all still with First

For those wondering about the space available for buses laying over on The Headrow; this lunchtime I saw a 65, X11 and 55 parked up... with a 75 just pulling in. It was hanging over the end a bit but the ambulance coming up The Headrow had no problem getting past
The fact that the 55, 65 AND 75 were all parked up at the same time is obviously a worry.

Do we think Arriva running these Halifax and Huddersfield school contracts may be connected to the sale of Yorkshire Tiger
i.e Arriva won them, but they didn't form part of the deal with Transdev, so Arriva are running them themselves
As otherwise they are strange ones for Arriva to pick up as many of them involve more dead running than live running

I’m currently on the rota for the 65 55 X11 routes, and they do have a good bit of standing time in Leeds, which helps with late running coming through Holbeck / White Rose and from Bradford (mainly Barkerend Road).

Team Pennine are temporarily suspending the 324, due to driver shortages, promising to be back soon with big exciting plans. Assume this is taking effect immediately.

If bustimes is to be believed, it’s barely run all week bustimes can't be right lately though as ot shows 360 is now 1 bus instead of 2 and similar with 319. Only D1 and the Holmfirths have been tracking with right numbers for Huddersfield (except 303/304 although that had a few weeks of unannounced not running).

Well 324 is next big route for revamp/re-launch. Which makes it a very strange cancellation. I get there are alternatives, but cutting a route in full just before you re-launch it is like shooting yourself in the foot, before running a 100m sprint.

But around Easter (so still tiger) it was 319 dropped and 324 apart from late trips although this time it seems to be 324 in full and presumeably 321 & 323 as well as they weren't listed.

Team pennine just posted this
"From Monday 13 September, our friends at South Pennine Community Transport will be helping us by running the 532 (Halifax-King Cross), with operations of the 514 (Halifax-Pellon & Wainstalls) passing to them shortly afterwards. There will be no changes to times or fares.
This temporary arrangement will help us focus our colleague recruitment and vehicle improvement plans, whilst strengthening relations with a great local bus operator. We know our customers will be in good hands."
