Anybody got any idea how Keighley will provide extra buses on the 60? Presumably the PVR will increase slightly? The 1315 from Leeds only runs as far as Greengates. This looks to provide all the short runs to Greengates (there's only 2 extra trips plus the 1315 running short), presumably running back to Leeds out of service. There is the one additional trip into Leeds in the morning. It's not clear where that comes from or goes.

Most of the time an Aireline Versa comes off service to be replaced by a decker which then runs the 14.45 Keighley to Leeds ready for the 16.35 Leeds to Keighley. You don't see a lot of spotted posts about Aireline's on other routes so I assume this Versa usually goes back to the depot or lays up in Keighley Bus Station. In theory this Versa can now stay out in service providing the extra capacity. There are six branded Versa's + 402/403 and a President usually operates the 16.55 so that in theory gives 9 buses available which I would imagine would easily provide the extra vehicles needed. What will happen when the Leeds Low Emission Zone finally comes into force is what, as a commuter, is concerning me.

I don’t know how the new 588 will be worked. The 589/590 hasn’t changed timetable, so it probably doesn’t interwork. The 588 looks to be self contained off peak, but seems to require an extra bus at peak times with long layovers. Drivers may travel to Rochdale on a service bus to changeover.

Interworked, mainly with the 589,but with ocasional workings off or onto 590 . Certain boards do 3 trips on 588 before returning to Todmorden .

Ready.... Temporary bus stops all in place in Leeds city centre - most complete with shelters and timetable displays (but not real-time screens).

Yes, it's the one on Calverley Street at the side of the Town Hall - so that should be Monkswood Gate and Seacroft instead of Bramley and Horsforth!

I mentioned to Metro that they'd missed out the 66 and M4 from the timetable changes (although they retweeted Keighley bus's tweet). It seems they've not managed to update the leaflet.

You could argue that the 27 serves Horsforth.

I wonder how much use the temporary stops will get
Although they’ve mostly been fitted with shelters, I’m guessing most passengers will use one of the more normal stops rather than traipsing up to Merrion Street.
I do wonder how the layovers will work for services that normal use the CBS, there could be a bit of a bus log jam.

They do seem to regularly ignore or get wrong my local buses - Easter's M4 times were wrong. Again I told Metro but they didn't update the information.

They are suggesting the new Beeston service 10 is only because of the Headrow works, but does anyone else think it’ll be a permanent fixture now, and no longer be part of service 1?
Especially as the link between City Square and the University has been replaced by new service 27

I think the 10 should eventually be a loop around the city centre before going out to Beeston (like the old 68, remember that?). Meanwhile the 1A and 1B should extend to Liberty Dock (as they are student-focused services anyway) and the 28 can then run Leeds-Adel only.

I think there'll be a few more changes whilst the works are going on - the section in front of the Library / Art Gallery currently open for buses towards Park Row only will need dealing with at some point, and presumably the rest of the city-centre works will take place in stages after The Headrow is done, and require their own adjustments. Once everything in the pipeline is finished, I think we're likely to see another fairly wholesale recasting to take account of all the changed flows (2-way buses on Infirmary Street and Vicar Lane, 1-way towards the station only on Park Row, bottom end of New Briggate pedestrianised).

There is the one additional trip into Leeds in the morning. It's not clear where that comes from or goes. Close but not quite. The extra morning trip was a President on Monday, a Versa the rest of the week, usually 240. It appears to run dead back to Keighley from Leeds. You are correct that the bus that runs the short 13.15 also works the short 15.35 and then the full length 17.35. The 14.35 however appears in Leeds from nowhere so presumably runs out of service to Leeds and then later runs the new 16.15 back to Keighley. This is the only real increase to the PVR that I can find as other additional journeys would have normally been covered by a decker run leaving a Versa spare. As usual the 16.55 is the only other bus which doesn't arrive into Leeds as an inbound 60, I assume this decker maybe runs off a school run. What interests me is that the bus that runs the 13.15/15.35 Leeds departures, leaves Keighley at 11.45 and doesn't get back until 19.15. I wonder if this is one full duty run by one driver who has his break somewhere in the gap between 13.50 when it arrives at Greengates and it's next appearance on the 15.35. If not I wonder how or where the driver changeover is made.

Possibly the driver that starts at 11.45 works a trip, then gets relieved at Greengates, before doing a PM school, and then running to Leeds for the 16.55.

I doubt that to be honest, I've watched this afternoon on bus tracker and the vehicle itself has sat for over an hour in Leeds bus station between 2.30 and 3.35, the drivers may have swapped over at Greengates but the driver who took it into Leeds must have then had an hour off....unless they make them sell tickets at the Transdev cart.. lol.

Sounds like the same driver probably has a break on the bus then.
The 1655 runs in from Ilkley off a school service, it’s been a long established arrangement.

Bit of a rant about the state of the 35. The latest timetable change means no buses run to Thorpe Edge. The timings throughout the day are pretty much exactly the same as the 60, mostly resulting in the 35, 60 and 508 all running up Leeds and Bradford road together. It still goes from 5 stands away from the 60 which is entirely moronic as more stands are now available cos of the Headrow works.
The whole stupidity of First's route planners means that there are 2 buses within a minute to Rodley, Calverley and Greengates (or towards Leeds) then a 30 min gap. This is where Metro should be allowed to step in and regulate a corridor of buses between two operators. I do sometimes wonder if First actually put any thought at all into what they are doing or just make it up as they go along, wearing a blindfold and ear defenders.
