I rarely venture across to Hudds and Halifax, what services do the Royale's/ Olympians usually operate so that I can get some pics and a few trips? Cheers 387,324 & 181/3/5 have seen quite a few Royale`s recently.

You're pretty much guaranteed a Royale on the 181/3/5 Mon-Sat daytime.

Is there any more news on replacements for huddersfield? Officially, still six Olympians left in service at Hudds. Three have been withdrawn in the last month, and four replacements drafted in. So technically we should be expecting five new faces shortly (If the remaining six go by the end of this month). Where these five come from is a guessing game at the moment. It's likely to be further ALX's from Leeds or ALX's or Gemini's from South Yorkshire. Personally, i think FWY should divert five new Streetdecks or E400MC flywheels from Leeds to Huddersfield as a gesture of goodwill

When the MOT's run out then the royales are being withdrawn/scrapped.

When the MOT's run out then the royales are being withdrawn/scrapped. Depends because some of the MOT's are for 2017 so they will be if they are 2016 and the remaining ones may be withdrawn. First has said that all royals apart from 2 will be withdrawn before August.

Sad that 30821 has been withdrawn, very glad to have ridden on 30818 today as it maybe the last time I ride on an Olympian. I also heard about the kids being suspended as they egged the bus. 30815 - K5 30818 - K7 30822 - K4,K2 today.

Whats the situation regarding recently withdrawn 30843?, previous posts have suggested it may be preserved, with Keighley bus museum it's likely destination. However, since it's actual withdrawal nothing has been mentioned about this. Anyone know anything they wish to divulge?, or is 30843 making the one way trip to Barnsley?.

It was reported yesterday on the First Bus Enthusiasts Facebook Page that it's off to "A certain company near York which tends to get a lot of ex First stock" and that the company boss intends to keep it in it's current livery.

Yes that's correct, they will need to be off mainline service by 31/12/16. However, First have a plan to have them off before that time.

And even then if its a 'closed door' contract that some of the Kirklees runs are (zero fare school cards only?) they can in theory continue forever.
Not that First are planning on that though, they are expecting them all to go before the start of the next school year.

Thanks for your response, however i know little or nothing about York's operators (save for First and Transdev), therefore i have no clue to whom you refer. I'm a little bemused as to the purpose of this purchase, as it cant be used on public service after 1/1/2017, So has it been bought for school run's, spares or something else?. If the original livery is to be kept, it'll need a good spit and polish, as it was looking decidedly shabby in the weeks leading up to it's withdrawal.
