Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows when the new single deckers are due at Heckmondwike, and if they are still receiving second hand Wright bodied Volvos?
Thanks, Jim.

Eight B7RLEs with Wright bodies are due this July. Plus some Alexander Dennis Enviro400/Volvo B9TLs are due later this year for Heckmondwike. So Darwen have lost a customer after we have waited eight months for 16 buses to be delivered!

I imagine the new Enviro400s will faze out the last of the East Lancs Volvo Olymipians.

Would imagine that the Enviro 400s may well be for the 268 since all other Heckmondwike services are part of a very large and extremely complicated network of interworking services. Also the upgrading of core routes that seems to be the trend at the moment has yet to reach the 268, its last upgrade being the Presidents in 2000 (which are now a little on the shabby side)...

I been thinking & I wouldn't be too surprised if the 8 B7RLE's are for 268 to begin with, or have the Spectra's gone on to that as I've seen quite a few Presidents on the 209/220/221 Huddersfield - Leeds, 219 Mirfield - Leeds.

Most of the Spectras are to be found on the 268, but I've also seen them on the 220 and 254.
I am not certain though, that 17 promised from Belle Isle have come across to Hecky yet, or even will do. I have seen from 707 onwards thus far, so where are 700-706?

Seen a couple of Belle Isle Spectras on the 145 and 149 today. One of them was 702, not sure about the other.

Rumour had it that a last minute change of plan would see some of them heading over to Cas - not sure if this is still the case or what they would be used on if so.

That may explain why I saw a couple in Pontefract then.

Heckmondwike is to recieve thirteen Volvo B7 buses with bodywork by Wright will carry fleet numbers 1100 to 1112. The first nine are due for delivery in July, and the other four in August. Later this year, fourteen Dennis Enviro 400's are expected, to upgrade service 268. www.dewsburybusmuseum.co.uk/#/arrivanews/4527295184

Still seems strange to me that the Wright Eclipse in the picture is an 08-plate and yet it doesn't carry the Interurban Livery!

CT Plus (Hackney Community Transport), London, placed its single Darwen Olympus bodied Trident in service during May after waiting 19 (nineteen) months for it!

Well I could understand if they only had double deckers in the Interurban Livery, but as we have seen over the past few weeks they are now repainting ALX300s into Interurban.

Today I saw YJ08DZB Wright B7RLE in Kirklees in Interurban livery. It only had Arriva on the destination.

Perhaps the one in the picture may receive the Interurban livery as well then.

I saw it on the A58 (Whitehall Road), in the Drighlington area, heading towards Birkenshaw. I don't know what fleet number it was though, unfortunately I didn't see it.

Don't these interwork with the 219/229? Seen the 229 change over to 254/5 at Leeds Bus Station.

Will these buses be liveried specifically for the 254/5 services or just be normal Arriva colours? New buses are good, but I would have assumed that double deckers would have been better as many of the peak services to/from Leeds are packed, even though the service operates every 12 minutes.

I would imagine they would work with the Spectras in the same way as the Striders do now, at least both types in use will be low floor compared to now where you never know what will turn up
