Probably essentially for schools but no reason why they can't use them in normal service as they're DDA compliant. I notice their registrations start KP, I assume you will also be going nuts over these! :-)

Not sure this is fully accurate as only 32082 and 32092 were left at Leicester with the others of that batch being transferred to West of England or Essex when Leicester got their Streetdecks. Also unless you meant to say 32090-96, 32100 to 32106 are East of England Presidents which were in Norwich although they have just received Streetdecks of their own so these may be on the move.

I gather 37021-37030/37032-37035 and probably 37031 when the fire damage is repaired are moving back to Leeds. They are too thirsty on fuel for Rotherham and we've got more deckers than required and from next Monday the PVR will drop to 80 and we've got 6 new Streetlites (with 14 for Doncaster).

According to the recent First Fleetlist there seems to be a few ALX 400s in West Yorkshire reserve pool from South Yorkshire. 30904-7 are listed plus a few more.

Is it true that the early alx400's are being withdrawn and is 66168 still in Huddersfield? Any ALX's in the 30847-865 group which haven't been upgraded with DDA mods will have to come off normal use by the end of the year. They could still be used on school work from next year if they're still around. 66168 returned to Rotherham mid to late May.

Ok, 66753 wasn't in service for a while and it sounded a bit rough when it came back as well as it has a new rear.

All FWY non DDA buses will be off this year.

I appear to have missed something here, and am amazed that there have been no reports as such. Looking at the SOES fleetlists, 37021-35 (excluding of course 37031), are now in the West Yorkshire 'Reserve' fleet along with several ALXB7's. Have they actually moved to WY, or are they parked up in SY awaiting transfer? Furthermore, who's getting them? Have seen a picture on Flickr with an ALX rear end seemingly rubbed down, with the part reg W762, which would match up to 30907 in HP by the paint area.( Thinking about it, it ight just be the lines at the rear that have faded!!!)

Chris They are still mostly at South Yorkshire - I believe 37028 is at Huddersfield. Batch to be split between Halifax, Huddersfield and Hunslet Park to permit older B7s to replace Olympians and non DDA B7s

What DDA modifications need to be made to the ALX400s? The PSVAR2000 legislation covers: Dimensions and requirement of wheelchair space Ramp, ramp angles and Kneeling Priority Seats Route and Destination Displays. The ALX's which have been upgraded had the following modifications: A seat was removed from the first row behind the stairs, with the remaining one turned 90 degrees to become inward facing. This was to enable a wheelchair to shunt comfortably into the bay on the nearside. The wheelchair ramp was also replaced. New lino fitted. Bus stop bell pushes were replaced with new ones containing braille. Bus stopping signs were replaced with new ones which have to be lower case. Some handpoles were replaced to comply with 45mm knuckle clearance to allow for swollen hands, the legislation doesn't just cover wheelchair users. Treads on the steps were replaced. Destination displays need to be at the front & side with a route number at the back and need to comply with the legislation which requires the characters at the front to be 125mm and at the sides 70mm. As a result new Hanover destinations were fitted all round which comply. For anybody interested in the complete legislation there's a document somewhere on the web which lays it all out but I can't find it just now. Search on PSVAR2000 and it'll be there somewhere. I also find it a good cure for insomnia!
