It is just today that I have thought it could suit me to come to Bradford on the August Bank Holiday! It might be too much to expect any StreetDecks here by then.

FIRST WEST YORKSHIRE NEWS Streetdecks - 37 are due and will be split between Hunslet Park, Bramley and Bradford depots. Route allocations yet to be finalised. Several Volvos with ALX and Gemini bodies due from within First to enable all Olympians to depart by end July and oldest B7TLs to go by December. From my source at FirstLeeds. This from Facebook (I know it's possibly not the most trusted source) so Huddersfield and Halifax will both become predominantly Geminis and "younger" alx400s whilst the others have will a variety whilst and every depot is already wrightbus for single deckers. Is it me or do Kirklees depots (First Huddersfield, Arriva Dewsbury & Arriva Heckmomdwike) and First Calderdale always have delays getting new buses eg the last new buses at Arriva Heckmondwike were the geminis and the 2 61 plate pulsars so surely they're due some and i dont mean cascades either. First Huddersfield dont have any brand new deckers either they've only had the 12 plate eclipses and 14 plate streetlites as brand new buses recently. Okay Arriva Dewsbury got New e400s for 202/203 but the only new buses before were the pulsars and the geminis the year before. First Calderdales latest new buses were the 13 plate eclipses and last years streetlites. (I'm also aware thats what Bradford got) Why push brand new on the big city depots yearly and the others have to have such big gaps between orders? For reasons of accuracy, may i respectfully point out that Huddersfield's Eclipse's are 13 plate and their Streetlite's are 64 plate. Could i also politely remind you, that this thread is indeed a thread regarding "First". There are other thread's for matter's Arriva.

Anything on social media, prior to official announcement by First regarding official vehicle orders and allocations, perhaps should be treated as mere speculation and conjecture initially.

To bring this back to First buses instead of Arriva surely the 72 at Bramley, X84 at HP and X6 at Bradford would be the obvious routes involved although I doubt the numbers add up for all of those. Exactly what i was thinking, sharksmith. The PVR on those three routes adds up to a hell of a lot more than 37 buses.

The fact the 72 is losing its streetcars is also only rumour and has been since about a week after they were introduced.

I had to pause before I read the bottom of page 2, before it turns into Arrivas Thread haha.
I can See the streetcars going from 72. There 10 years and well, are becoming expensive for first to run, the fact that 72 is nicking the 49s E400s for weekend uses is a good example.
It's ashame 37 can be divided by 3. Well from 36. Could be 12 each depot, but numbers will be higher for one garage over the other.

I can`t see the streetcars going anytime soon, these are expensive assets which were only refurbed not long ago. The lack of use at weekends is more down to staffing issues than the buses themselves. They have become more popular with the public on the 72 than they ever did on the 4. One route I would transfer them onto is the Headingley corridor, City Square to Holt Park would suit them. The new streetdecks would suit the X84 which has rather lost it`s specialness in the new livery, Transdev have set the bar with the 36 for inter urban travel.

I agree, there's being several large meetings recently regarding the Streetcars and what the future for them should look like. Popular vehicles with the public and the crews that work them, less so with the FTR DreamTeam!!

They won't end up on the X84. They have never been used on a route requiring a reversing manoeuvre and the X84 requires one at Otley and one at Skipton.
Didn't they even change the 72's departure stand at Bradford Interchange and modify the route to stop it using Leeds Bus Station before these were introduced on the route?

I think he was on about the rumoured deckers possibly for the X84 and not referring to the bendi slugs.

I think with Bramley's requirements to have the 72 wife enabled they will end up there.
Long shot, but 56's ALX400s replaced after 7/8 years. The Gems are of similar age now?

The fact that the photo shows the bus in standard fleet livery makes me more skeptical that they are for the 72 as most First area's seem to have a renewed interest in route branding and I'd be surprised if Bramley would abandon this now with not even so much as a coloured front end.

I agree, the streetcars are valuable pieces of kit and the Hyperlink brand has become established on route 72. These streetdecks are going on other routes.

The new Streetdecks are destined for Bramley according to the Facebook Leeds Buses site.

Wouldn't be a surprise if these are destined to interwork with Bramleys Existing fleet.
For all we know they could place guide wheels and put them on the 40/56/19 routes.

Express liveried Streetdecks are for Bradford as well. Expect major fleet changes soon with Streetdecks and Volvo B7TL Geminis from Rotherham coming.

Also interesting that the E200MMC seems to be favoured over the StreetLite Max. I wonder what, if anything, will cascade to Halifax...
