I thought i caught a glimpse of them, as i passed Cut End this morn. What initially drew my attention was the fact the paintwork seemed a little duller and faded compared to the 06 plate examples. Am i right in thinking they are DAF DB250's ?

so if there 8 06 reg (1606-13) off from Hecky to Selby then Hecky potentially are going to gain 8 52/02 plate lowlanders (possibly 1614-21 if they choose to continue the numbering on like when dewsbury and wake gained their E400s last year) 1620 to 1628 Heckmondwike and it's 9 that they are getting. Sent from my D6603 using proboards You would've thought that they would've been numbered 1614 onwards, afterall, the M registered Volvo Olympians were numbered 511-521, carrying on from the N registered Dennis Arrows of 501-10.

Or you'd have thought they'd have begun the sequence with the final digit being 1 and not zero. When I count I start with 1, but Arriva, being Arriva, do funny things, like starting with 0 or having unnecessary route numbers like 268A.

And, another reason behind it, was, because another operator had been using that number for their Cleckheaton - Dewsbury service, they didn't want the stigma of that company.

O yeah I'd forgotten about our friends at SGI !!! Older end drivers suggested 269, right from the start of when it was mentioned that they were gonna send 268 over to Wakefield. Hell, even me, at 46 years old, can remember the old Yorkshire Buses, 269 going to Wakefield, it also diverted between Old Oak, Littletown and the Swan lights, by going up through Firthcliffe Estate, and coming back down to Swan to resume route, something that was also suggested, but, rejected, cos, they wanted to create 10 min service between Bradford and Dewsbury.

1620 on my 220 service this morning. Loving the seat upholstered casing around the 'Bus Stopping' indicator above the upper deck front windows.

I have heard that Dewsbury's 1005 - 8 are leaving and 1480 -81 are coming back and 1061 - 1063 are coming back. The enviros are going to go though a repaint (plus possible refurb) programme starting next week, once complete 57/58 will enter the 'pool' fleet.
