No mention yet on the First Halifax, Calder Valley & Huddersfield website (as it is now called on the website).
If the strikes goes ahead, this would leave the only First services in the area:
*184 Huddersfield-Manchester via Oldham *231/232 Huddersfield-Wakefield (some) *501/503 Huddersfield-Halifax via Elland *549 Huddersfield-Halifax via Brighouse *X6 Huddersfield-Leeds via Bradford

Have heard that further talks are planned over the weekend, in a bid to avert strike action.

The only non Huddersfield First journey is a single 232 trip to Wakefield in the morning which is provided by Hunslet Park.

Are the few 231/232 journeys operated under contract to Metro. If so failing to run them would result in no being paid for those lost journeys and if the dispute went on possibly the loss of the contract completely.

They are those trips a couple in the morning then the evening services which were won from Arriva a few years ago.

Runs private to Flockton, then in service to Huddersfield, then in service to Wakefield, then private to Middleton, then does a 12 to Leeds. Then sits in the depot as engineers at Hunslet tend to put a bus on it which they might need to work on.

Info now on the First website, special hourly services running on some routes only.
Something has seriously gone wrong with the communication here as they've basically given the public half a working day's notice.
No info on Metro's website except a link, no info on GenerationM. No info about school services at all. First are counting on it being called off so aren't going to much effort to provide any info.
K-Line's Cadets and Solos will be a tad snug on Monday.

0545 Huddersfield to Wakefield 0650 First Huddersfield Then dead to Golcar to do K26, so probably an ALX400
0608 Flockton to Huddersfield 0645 0650 Huddersfield to Wakefield 0755 First Leeds Then to Middleton as mentioned above, probably a Gemini

I notice no extra peak time running time has been included on the X63 timetable, so don't expect them to run on time, although most passengers won't be aware of the special timetable anyway. Due to the late notice I wouldn't be surprised if the YourNextBus screens still displayed as normal.
Those special timetables have a PVR of 10. The extra services would probably add another 3.

I did wonder how it then got Hudds back to somewhere near Leeds.

First bus strike will go ahead on Monday: Full list of service changes and cancellations here www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/first-bus-strike-go-ahead-10514506Bus drivers are to strike in Huddersfield on Monday. The 170 drivers working for First will walk out for 24 hours , bringing many services to a standstill. Five hours of talks on Thursday failed to bring a settlement between the company and the Unite union. And drivers have warned more action will follow. The row centres on new contracts proposed for drivers. It covers pay and conditions but First are wanting to have different conditions for people who may join the company in the future. That has been rejected by the union

Must be going ahead now it's made onto the BBC news site............. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-34953182Many services have been cancelled but bus operator First said it hoped to run a reduced service on some routes. The company said other First depots were not taking part in strike action and those services would run as normal. Given the final line this must be very much an issue at Huddersfield

I was told on Saturday afternoon details of a letter sent by mangements to all drivers. As it was read to me it sounded to me to be threatening and intimidating. It did not surprise me at all that the driver I was speaking to stated that another strike(3 days) in the week before Christmas is being planned.

First Huddersfield website says that managers will be drivers on some of the services, while they are 'grateful for support from their colleagues at our sister company First Manchester', which might suggest some drivers from across the Pennines are being drafted in to help out. Meanwhile, South Pennine Community Transport have said they'll be running a free 308 service tomorrow between Huddersfield Peel Street and Holmfirth, running hourly between 0945 and 1245 from Holmfirth and between 1015 and 1315 from Huddersfield.

There is about 10 BMC's parked in Huddersfield bus station ready to run school services tomorrow, wouldn't surprise me if these appear in service at some point tomorrow.

It'll be to avoid crossing the picket line like when Bradford were on strike and they ran from Cherry Row. Are there any double decks there as well as about 10 double deck school services are also run by 'schools unit' drivers?

Saw them leaving the depot & heading up Leeds Rd about 4pm. I assumed they were being moved so the drivers didn't have to cross the picket line tomorrow, like they did with the Bradford ones when they were on strike.
