Have heard they will be some heritage repaints, but whether they will be on display at a Metro 40 location I don't know

No idea, but then why is it in the North & East Yorkshire section?

I sent a tweet to First earlier and their reply was "No firm plans yet but we're in discussion with Keighley Bus Museum and Metro. Keep checking News and Initiatives on website". Maybe there are plans......

I heard the event is going to be in the Old Hall Ings bus depot in Bradford.

That sounds a bit unlikely as this is now split between a car park for Buckingham Bingo, which I would imagine would be busy on a Sunday, and office car parking with electronic barriers installed.

Rather than speculating where it's gonna be or all this "I've heard this and that" let's wait for confirmation to where it's gonna be. I so can't wait for this event.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards I don't know where the Metro 40 Event will be, but have heard rumours there will be a much better event in the area the same day

From Facebook yesterday
"Sunday 6th April - Yorkshire's premiere vintage bus event will be held across four sites in Bradford. These are Centenary Square, Jacobs Well, the old Metro Hall Ings bus garage, and the FirstGroup Bowling Back Lane depot."
Sounds like First may be involved then so maybe we will see a Bradford Blue Gemini after all, or maybe even a WYPTE liveried version! I'm still not sure about them using the old bus depot, it's awful dark and dingy in there and the Keighley Bus Museum does not mention this venue or the First depot for that matter.

The Hall Ings depot will be used for the stalls, the buses will park on Jacobs Well car park and in the city park. First will offer guided tours of their depot.

They started advertising posters of it in Bradford Interchange. More interested in what vehicles will be there, how much walking around Bradford I'll have to do and will anything be on show at bowling Lane... The FB page is poor,it's not updated enough for a big anniversary..

Taken From Scott Poole on Flickr Metro 40 ......................News special
Hot off the press as they say................................ We can at least confirm that KBMT 473 the Huddersfield Daimler fleetline, and AVTG 410 are going to be used for the free bus rides around Bradford. Plus several invited guests have asked if they could use their vehicles on this service. KBMT Halifax 232 will be used for the depot tours, exclusively. First have also confirmed they will have a display of their latest buses and a stall, Metro 40 thank First for their support. Look out for posters on First buses around West Yorkshire and ConneXions buses around Harrogate. The commemorative Book and programme are printed and ready for sale, when the ink has dryed. The event is starting around ten O'clock, but some enthuiasts will be around earlier. We ask you all to be aware for moving vehicles, and take notice of the marshalls instructions. There is an exclusive model of a WYPTE former Bradford Leyland Titan, one of a VERY limited number on sale. A display of WYPTE information and promotiomal booklets will be on display, KBMT WYPTE MCW Metrobus 7505 will also feature as a display vehicle. So all we need now is some tropical sunshine, blue skys and you my fellow flickrites and all your friends, families to enjoy the day. SUNDAY APRIL 6TH 2014 on Centenary Square/City Park and Jacob's Well from 10am until around 5 in the afternoon. We are very pleased to announce that there will be guided tours of the Bradford Interchange.! Yes Metro have agreed to show groups of enthusiasts and families around this major building. .................................................stayed tuned

Arriva Supposedly "had no idea" of this event! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I sent an email and a Facebook message about this event way back in October and again in January. Their response was we have nothing planned as yet we are in discussions with Keighley bus museum about a possible heritage livery to celebrate the centenary of West Riding. Been today, not as many West York's buses as expected, don't know if some need MOT's but would of liked to of seen 5507 and 1700 and probably a few more WYRCC there but I do hope First do some heritage repaints since Manchester/South York's have.
I also hope non of the cabs were damaged with the amount of people cabbing them,it was also nice to see Bradford's last Trolleybus there, is this it's first visit to the city centre since it finished in service..

Went there myself and at times the road next to Jacobs Well where the tours ran from became a bit chaotic, saw many people crossing the road without looking for vehicles, one bloke nearly went on one of the tour buses the hard way until he quickly realised his mistake and went back to the safety of the footpath, saw many photographing buses from the middle of the road, and many darting accross the road from some of the arriving Bowling Back Lane buses to the free tour buses, I think with hindsight it would have been better running the free tours and Bowling Back Lane buses from the Interchange or from a cordoned off part of Jacobs Well.
On a positive note, good to see many turned up for the event and I managed to buy a 1980 Leeds Timetable book. The best bus in my opinion was the Halifax Lepoard on the free tours. The Huddersfield Daimler was a close second followed by the Atlantean. The Bradford bus on the tours seemed to be putting in a good shift, did quite a few tours almost one after another.

Sadly there is always a element at these events that are too enthusiastic to put it one way, and will dart across from bus to bus as if getting that particular photo is life or death.
A good enough event but a shame it was 'unofficial' and there wasn't an official event with Metro involved, having a stall, First involved with a stall, their buses on display in the city centre etc.
