See metro have tweeted that the 711 won't operate again today. Out of interest when did it last actually operate ?

This is where metro should throw the book at this tinpot operator, they took the service over, realised its making a loss so instead of honouring the contract , they just don't operate it. It's plain wrong

Unless someone knows better I don't think that this service is operated under a contract WYMetro. If I am correct then Metro can't "throw the book" at LOT as they are not supporting it. The only agency who can throw the book are the Traffic Commissioners and unless they receive complaints from the travelling public and other organisations they will never know that the service is not being operated.

This might help:
Have you been personally affected by the 711 not running?
No. Carry about your business like any other day.
Yes. Make complaints through the proper channels.
This thread reads like a broken record

Something a bit different, just heard one of LOT drivers saying the BCB bus in Bradford will be going along to Tesco on canal road from August, he didn't specify the exact date.

I think it might already be going that way. Last Friday (1st July), I saw one with passengers on, waiting to go right at the Canal Road/Shipley Airedale Road traffic lights heading towards Hamm Strasse and Manor Row. About 30-40 minutes later I saw another one crossing the Valley Road/Hamme Strasse junction, heading towards Tesco.

That seems like quite a new useful link, particularly considering Morrisons recently closed their Bradford City centre store, and service buses past Tesco are quite complicated.

FYI when the store opened, there was a Tuesday-only free bus from various parts of Bradford. The main bus routes don't stop anywhere near. There is a stop outside, but only for 656/675 and 659 going towards Shipley.

LOT taking over the daytime 49 and dropping two trips tonight, means that it is likely that First West Yorkshire will take over the evening 212/223/252? ?

IF they do give 212/223/252 back to Metro, Metro will ask the last operator (Arriva, in this case) to cover, until they're put out to tender and new operator selected. Just like they did with Tates 212 & 213 services.

Or they're going to actually make the 212/213 into a coordinated 30 minute frequency.
