and it would take somebody 2 hours to get to otley as the service would be on hold for while as they havent got the buses to cover the routes they have now it would have made sense for TLC or Connexions to have been offerd that as both commpanys have routes there already. Having a route in Otley already really does not help unless you are proposing another service is cancelled to fulfill a breakdown, Brighouse is nearer Otley than Tockwith.

Metro news has no 711 today due to breakdown. The sooner they get out the better. At least with no 711 service you know it is not going to turn up rather than now when it most likely will not.

Isn't this why most firms have spare buses?

The 711 didnt run all last week apart from Monday as it is SUPPOSE to be running every 2 hours instead of hourly.

Twice I've seen the Primo assuming coming off the 711 going down Geldard Road (Birstall retail park) at around 2pm towards Birstall traffic lights. Assuming heading back to the depot. The 711 is being withdrawn though and from what I've read here seems to have been a disaster for them making a loss. I expect had they not had to give 56 days notice they would have already withdrawn it.
The PVR is 10 buses, they have 13 in the fleet.
It might be a shortage of drivers rather than buses.

Yup, probably 1 where they could push through a few repairs to get the 711 back up & running but aren't too fussed. Lack of drivers/driving hours could be a major factor also.

At least today they can use FWY No. 9

Doesn't surprise me. Never looked busy when I've seen it. The reason for the cancellation is due to the fact it's costing upwards of £1200 a week in fuel. Maybe they using the guise of running no service claiming breakdown rather than suffer a loss due to the high costs of running the route

Firstly, how many 'problems' before they get hauled in front of the TC?
Secondly, they can let Metro know, but can't be bothered to update their Twitter feed. Not great.

If you look at more recent tweets from LOT it reads as though Mr Steele is someway involved as they are grammatically written as he did on the Sgi twitter feed let alone his own personal one.

How many times does a company have to fail to operate scheduled services before they're hauled before the Traffic Commisioner?? Surely this has to have a bearing on their other Wymetro services? Smacks of Tates when they wanted to withdraw from the 72 from Meadowhall to Manvers in South Yorkshire & consistently failed to run the service during the last few weeks for various (ominous) reasons.

I can't see any similarity between SGI and LOT.
SGI ran random services at random times, changing timetables every few months, all commercial. No tendered work. Buses in any old livery.
LOT run established routes, all except one being tendered. No changes to the timetables, All except one also seem to run without issue. All buses in fleet livery.
Also none of their buses are "clapped out", they aren't enthusiasts favourites which seems to be the main crux of the issue here. I'm surprised TJ Walsh aren't hated as they have never run a vehicle that would excite an enthusiast.

Never really gave a serious reason as to why you dislike them so much apart from ]A fleet full of tiny priomo's, and even worse a sprinter mini bus on a service arriva operated a double decker on. I don't like these tiny companies who come in and undercut tenders, at the end of they day, they can't play with the big boys , just give it time. Which just means you don't like competition. Yorkshire Tiger Leeds couldn't compete with the big boy in Leeds, now they're just a rug in front of the fire in DB's head office. Where were you slagging them off? They obviously undercut tenders to win them. Must be another tinpot firm

Tweet from Metro says they won't be operating the 711 at all this week due to vehicle breakdown.
Wonder if they'd find a replacement bus if it were one of the tendered routes they were struggling with?
