What I'm a bit puzzled about is why have we received 2 T reg B6s from Manchester, saw one the other evening on the 4A and it had loads of black smoke coming from the exhaust. Am I right in saying these have been banished from Manchester because of age rules? Pity Metro can't banish these from West Yorkshire because their an environmental mess and public health concern! I've read about Manchesters B6, from dart slf forum and there in worse condition than our West Yorkshire and York ones. So receiving these, I fear they may spend more time off road than on.

I suppose a lot depends on how they've been maintained. Maybe once the Leeds fitters get to grips with them they may get the attention they need to make them reliable. time will tell on that one. Dont be too concerned about black smoke though. It isn't the amount of black smoke emitted which causes problems, it's the amount of noxious hydrocarbons and suchlike contained within the black smoke thats the problem. It's perfectly feasible for a diesel to belch black fumes out, yet still be well within the emission limits set by the D.O.T, but a clean looking exhaust trail could well be over those limits. Unfortunately most diesel engined vehicle's over a certain age will emit more smoke than newer vehicles, this is simply due to the natural ageing process, eg. worn bores, worn rings and slacker tolerances in the engine.

These old single-deckers coming to Leeds point to a clear increase in services in the area. Maybe they are just a stop-gap measure until the new Eclipses arrive?

Whilst all the details for next month's changes are still unknown (why, Metro, could there be any need to publish anything a whole 4 weeks in advance, despite wanting operators in the future to announce changes to the public far in advance - but I digress) are the tender wins for First really going to drive up the PVR? Indications so far would be that overall increase would be minimal (10 - runs Sundays only; 11 extension - 1 extra bus, but mitigated by loss of 1 bus on 64/64A; 85/87 changes - probably 1 extra bus, unless peak time running beyond Middleton is reinstated; all other wins are evenings, early mornings, Sundays, such as the 9/38/86A). Instead I wonder if enhancements to other services which utilise single deck vehicles are coming - revisions to registrations recorded with VOSA but which we know nothing about from the bus review, such as the 19/19A, 64, 74 etc.

37365 may be withdrawn after engine fire while on 681 route 681 route has guide wheels so it was probably on 576 going back to depot.

At least 2 B7LA Wright Streetcars at Bradford depot this morning. Both looked to be purple ones. I assume they are ones that were stored at Cherry Row? The front panels appeared to be missing, so I looks like they have been towed there.
