I wonder whether there are plans for 36279/ 80 to come to Leeds, maybe displaced from Manchester by new buses next year? I rode 36280 on route 184 from Manchester to Oldham Mumps today, and it was heading for Huddersfield! I look forward to riding one in Leeds, but reckon on waiting until Trinity Leeds opens in March.

so most of the new geminis are being branded. wonder if any b7tls( except the 1&6 ones) will get branded? Would imagine the 56s will be next in line.

36242 and another new Gemini has branding for the 97. First seem to be branding quite a few routes now 97 is not a colour line route is it? Thought they run half hourly. Maybe combine with the 28 along the headingley corridor.

The York Road guideway is now a poor relation to the A61 guideway with clapped out 15 year old Scania`s on route 19, elite it is not!

Rumour going around Bramley Garage is that with more deliveries of new Volvo Wright Eclipses due next year the plan is to re-place the First Leeds ageing Scania Wright's.

The York Road guideway is now a poor relation to the A61 guideway with clapped out 15 year old Scania`s on route 19, elite it is not! Tbh there was a time they improved the allocation on the 19's to compete with arrivas 166/163. Clearly people would rather travel with a modern bus rather then a as you say clapped out 15 year old bus, and they've given in. I would of thought they'd of put new geminis on the route or a mix or geminis and eclipses to try win some custom back. Clearly they want customers to travel with a company that charges over the odds for the service they deliver.

I believe 100 B9TL`s are due for Leeds in 2013 so we shall see where they end up, the Arriva guided buses for York Road are supposed to be new hybrids shortly, that will up the pressure on First. The Leeds Scania`s were fine when new but now look careworn and rather sad.

Seems unlikely. I don't think First have announced 2013 orders yet

The orders were announced some time ago. Oliver Howarth announced Leeds was getting 200 new buses last summer for delivery over the next 12 months, 96 have arrived so far.

just had my first ride on one of the geminis it was 36195 BN12JYV on the 42 (because the 5 failed to show up) and i have to say it was the most comorftable ride i have had in years the bus was airy, there was plenty fo leg room so these geminis are great.
i hope we get a mixture of singles and doubles for bramley done to the standard of the geminis. usualy on the 5 we get really uncomfortable flolines and ultralows.

Just a note from the above, all Arriva bus services that serve York Road no longer use the bus guideway, since around 2009 they stopped using it. From my experience, the journey times are slightly quicker with Arriva buses using just the normal road rather than the guideway, even at peak times since they can overtake other buses and other traffic. They used to get stuck behind 56's and 40's which used to stop at every stop along the guideway, especially when Arriva used to run express services. Getting stuck behind a normal stopping service negated the express journey! I now prefer to use Arriva or Transdev's services at peak times because they are much quicker, by-passing the not so useful and time-wasting guideway!

Sorry if the above comment was a little off-topic. I haven't seen the scope of the topic anywhere else on a different thread. I reckon those single deck Scanias are in pretty decent condition saying that some of those have done a million plus miles on the clock and their acceleration is really really good for diesel (compared to electric-hybrid) engined bus.

Don't worry the flolines and ultralows will soon be cascaded to Bradford and Halifax and Leeds will get even more new buses!
