Apologies if posted further up the thread, but BI Commander 499 looks as though it's had a bit of a spruce-up. Now has the standard blue seat upholstery.

I was in Leeds last Saturday, admittedly en route to Harrogate for Transdev bus rides. Anyway, I felt so tempted by the refurb LF Spectras that I may well come back to ride one in the Autumn! I am anticipating them on Leeds-Wakefield routes such as the 444 and 481.

So 117, 147, 148/9, 425/7, 443 444/6 and 481 plus schools and most of the peak time only routes

I forgot about some of the routes heading east of Wakefield. I would be surprised to see older buses like Spectras on route 110, but then I did see a leather-seated Gemini on route 425 or 427 last March so some interworking is inevitable.

Spectra's working the 110's do happen and on a regular basis. Likewise Gemini's working other routes happens as well. It all depends on which buses (and how they are parked up the night before) are available at morning run-out, breakdowns, buses required by the depot and what vehicle are handed back throughout the day. Maybe this bus had more worn-out seating than average so was fully retrimmed? In case I come to Leeds on September 28th, I plan to live the working assumption that all LF Spectras are refurbished and settled at BI.

Don't forget that these two batches are now over 7 years old, the ex-leather clad 08 plate Darwens 1800-1815 and the ex Dewsbury based 57 plate Commanders 1409-1415 together with some of the 56 plate ones at Belle Isle have already received an internal re-trim

Thank you Penfold and TTT. As most LF Spectras are now refurbished this will make it easy to ride one. I rode an Olympus with standard seats last August Bank Holiday, and shall watch out for the Commanders. Are some still at Dewsbury or are they all at Belle Isle now? I hope the York gains and schools going back don't hash up the allocations!

In a change of plan I came to Huddersfield and Leeds today. I noticed a 57-reg Commander in Wakefield that had been refurbished but kept to LF Spectra 706 in terms of refurbishments.

Caught a glimpse of a Selby based Volvo/Plaxton President with a rear route number display. Never seen any Heckmondwike or Selby President with this working before and thought all the apertures were painted over. Anyone able to confirm or otherwise which vehicle it might be?

Never seen any Heckmondwike or Selby President with this working before and thought all the apertures were painted over. Anyone able to confirm or otherwise which vehicle it might be? The 11 Presidents which were originally allocated to Selby 675-679, 681-686 had their rear number plates repositioned to the rear destination box so it is unlikely to be one of these. The original 9 based at Heckmondwike 687-689, 691-696 retained their number plates in the lower rear panels with their rear destination panels painted over. If the one you saw with the rear route number working out of Selby then it is likely to be one of 687-689, 691 or 692.

I think it will have been a Selby bus as it was at a stand in Leeds bus station from where their vehicles depart. It was too far away for me to be sure. I was on a 444 in peak period; it could conceivably have been a Hecky bus dropping off I suppose. Ooh I wish we could find out.
