This seems a strange one but Arriva Yorkshire Enviro 1066 has been repainted and refurbished into MAX not sure what route it will be for there is a tweet about it saying a couple of big brothers on there way to join the little buses fleet. Hate to say this but in a way dont that defeat the idea of little buses big in wakefield/yorkshire? Hope they come to dewsbury and we can be shot of 1005-1008.

Does that mean the more green interior has also been lost? 1066 was certainly in need of a repaint. Perhaps they'll add 443 to the Wakefield City network and use this and 'brothers' on it. Or, maybe on way back to Selby for new town services to replace 260-2? Always strange that the "Big in Wakefield" operate on services in Leeds on evening/Sundays (117/444/446/481) where "Big in Yorkshire" would be more fitting. Yet the original "Big in Yorkshire" batch at Castleford were usually found on services entirely within the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District, eg 188/159

This is another one of those jobs when the same discussion is occurring in two different threads, but in the other thread it's been stated these buses are joining the 'Little buses' fleet so the 485 can be operated with mini E200s

Yet the original "Big in Yorkshire" batch at Castleford were usually found on services entirely within the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District, eg 188/159 I wouldn't read too much into the branding, the main purpose is to be used around Wakefield with them running evening services as its both a historic thing (Darts run evening services for years) and its far more efficient than running big buses. As for the Castleford "Yorkshire" branding, the people of Castleford don't really see themselves as being in Wakefield. On the other hand most people don't even notice what colour the bus is let alone what the writing on the side says!

Plus Castleford's go all over including Pontefract and Wetherby, so something more general sounding was required.

Or, maybe on way back to Selby for new town services to replace 260-2? There's nothing wrong with Darts 260—2. While I don't like seeing them on interurban services, they are absolutely fine for town services in Selby where most people are only on the bus for 10 minutes or so. They are only 11 years old so they should have a few years of service left in them. (Interestingly, they've got a President running the 5 today, not sure if that happens much but it's the first time I've seen it)

However with a PVR of 3 and only three Darts available then I would assume that other buses will often have to be used to cover breakdowns/servicing. I've seen an Olympus on the 7 before. The Enviro 200s would be a good supplement.

Fair point, and don't forget there's the 24/26/27 to provide cover for as well, which should be covered by a Euro VI bus although pragmatically there doesn't seem to be a lot of objection to other buses being used for occasional cover.

When pre planned, 260-262 are used. When it's a breakdown, usually the school decker goes out for a short while.

Interestingly just had the 260 on a 476 run, comfy enough for me and would take that over a president any day of the week!!

All this news so far means that potentially the only notable buses not refurbished are the 2006 DAF - E Lancs deckers and the Eclipses. The DAFs will probably just be spares or on secondary routes. I would love to see the Eclipses converted to MAX or Sapphire spec!

A couple of the heckmondwike 06 lowlanders have new seat covers, the eclipses mostly have been repainted and for some reason don't have any " arriva " decals on the front! I would also like to see these maximised !!!

Can anyone confirm the condition of the seats in the Selby Presidents which transferred from Heckmondwike 687-696

The eclipses, 09 plate enviro 200s(1066 now the exception), presidents and spectras haven't been retrimmed though (only a handful of spectras were done but need doing again).

All the Low Floor Spectras (700-723) have been re-trimmed at least once however the now withdrawn older Step entrance ones (624-641) were not re-trimmed. You have omitted the Castleford based Tempos from your list on ones which still have their original green/blue seating ala the Dewsbury/Wakefield enviros 1050-1065 etc .
