What they didn't mention (presumably for comic effect) is that these journeys will now operate in a loop via the ring road, Askham Bryan & York College to the city centre. So whereas before Smith's 8am departure from Easingwold (20 mins behind any competing service) could have made you late for lessons, you can now get up half an hour later and arrive 4 minutes ahead of Stephensons... who've just tweaked their timetable (again) to put themselves 5 mins ahead of a late morning Reliance journey. Cats & pidgeons spring to mind.

Hello
New here
Has anyone got any updates into the 78A/SS1 future and this TLC operation that appears to be taking over half of Keighley according to the latest N&P?

Not sure if the 78A/SS1 have been finalised yet (unless someone has news), probably a case of keep eyes peeled in the forthcoming days/weeks. As for TLC, they'll be running journeys 708, 715, 716, 727-729 and 915-918 in Keighley plus 629, 649, 656-659, 660, 678, 679 in Bradford Meanwhile, Tates have put their timetables for April's changes, including their new Wakefield services: 24, 25, 96/96A, 97/443, 157, 194/195, 485

Have they got any additional buses for these services because as far as I am aware, they have hoppers mainly?
Page 20 of 23rd March N&P has K&D cancelling their services from 29th April, along with a lot of changes to their existing services.

No idea, they probably be leasing some buses from a manufacter and/or dealer for the new services that they are running. The routes in Bradford being taken over from First are all Solo operated and the Keighley ones are in the main are usualy run with Darts so any additional vehicles would probably be Solos,Streetlites or Primos. Anyway I do not expect TLC to take anything bigger than a E200 but we wait and see what happens when the service changes come into effect

I'm holding my breath. They have trouble having a decent allocation on the 967,966 and 653, and at times have buses with just a lousy bit of paper on the windscreen. If they have a good intake of buses over the next few weeks then i'll take my comments back.

A lousy bit of paper would be an improvement on the 963 recently which one vehicle seems to have lost its paper labels for the last 6 weeks - not particularly brillant on a service that uses the same road in/out of Otley.

Thought Transdev were retaining Evening and/or Sunday journeys on the 708 etc, or is it just bad wording on Metro's part?

Thought Transdev were retaining Evening and/or Sunday journeys on the 708 etc, or is it just bad wording on Metro's part? Probably bad wording on Metro's part. There was different information in the documents with some of the changes, such as the 675/677. New 408/409 timetable from 29th April on SY travel website - www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/timetablefinder.aspx?searchtext=408&mode=busI have been informed at work that from April a new X45 service will run between Selby and Doncaster on an evening and on Sundays to replace the current service which is being withdrawn due to SY travel tender cuts. It will run the current 405 route until Askern market place (outside co-op supermarket) then it will run straight down A19 into Doncaster direct. Haven't got any times yet but been told it has been given 55mins from Selby to Doncaster and 55mins back. If what i've been told is right then from 29thApril the 407 from Doncaster at 18.45 will change to a X45, the 19.25 ish from selby will operate as a X45 instead of the current 407. The 405 at 20.45 and 22.45 from Doncaster will be withdrawn and replaced with a X45 at 20.15 ish to fit between the 409's at 19.15 & 21.15. X45 confirmed, with service running every two hours Mon-Sat evenings and Sunday daytime, running at xx45 each even hour from Doncaster and xx45 each odd hour from Selby. Also, timetables for services 46/47, 58/58A and 496 on Travel South Yorkshire. First SY are re-numbering their 79 service to 496 although not running into West Yorkshire. 46/47, 58/58A[a href=", 405/407/X45"], 405/407/X45[/a], 496

Calderdale PCC papers went up this morning. Service 570 is being withdrawn from Dewsbury Rd (unserved), the top end of Crowtrees Lane (only has 258) and Whiiney Hill Park (will only have 571) ,extended from Rastrick to Nonnery Lane via a loop that serves Rastrick Common in both directions which will restore a much requested link from Rastrick Common to Halifax, and will change numbers to 548 at Nunnery Lane (if I have read it right as the exact change point is not clear in the wording online)
Thoughts?

It surprises me that people in Rastrick wish to travel to Halifax via Brighouse (4 buses per hour) rather than via Elland (going to be 1 bus per hour). Surely via Elland is quicker?

So is this change a reduced hourly service on the Brighouse Bradford section? Maybe not too surprised about this change - it is always a low priority service.

I think Bradford - Brighouse is still every 30 mins, but 570 is rerouted between the two and then will go to Nunnery Lane rather than Halifax.

So it is just the steep Dewsbury Road that will be unserved. A shame - it is a very good test of any bus's performance!

News on the Metro website regarding April's changes. The Changing Times booklet will be uploaded onto the website next Tuesday (10 April) and from bus/train stations next Friday (13 April).
Some timetables are available on the Metro website. Some notable news is First taking over the Mon-Sat evening 262 service from Huddersfield Bus, Stagecoach will run the last three Sunday evening journeys on service 425 and the 548/570 interworking will take place, although it only mentions journeys from Nunnery Lane to Bradford between 8.45am and 3.45pm. Also, the 610 timetable is up, and the service only runs between Bradford and Hungerhill. We'll wait and see to see if the 611/612 is increased north of Bradford.

More worrying for users of the 610/1/2 like myself is that the 613/4 now runs every ten minutes between Buttershaw and Fagley, I hope this does not mean a frequency reduction on the 611/2 to every half hour!

The 634 timetable is up as well- the evening and Sunday service to West Bowling has been withdrawn.

More worrying for users of the 610/1/2 like myself is that the 613/4 now runs every ten minutes between Buttershaw and Fagley, I hope this does not mean a frequency reduction on the 611/2 to every half hour! Looks like the 610-612 are split into separate services. Doesn't necessarily mean that in north Bradford they will be reduced in frequency but quite possibly new routes/service numbers to be introduced there. In South Bradford the 610 Hungerhill service is reduced to hourly and runs direct avoiding Holly Bank Road. Instead the 614 picks up the 612 route to Holly Bank Road and Buttershaw. The 613/614 changes mean some areas get more buses, others less. The 634 timetable is up as well- the evening and Sunday service to West Bowling has been withdrawn. The 634 replaces the 624 via Bowling Park so there would be no evening/Sunday service (this is covered by 621). The other West Bowling service (I think to be numbered 633 replacing the 675/677) should still run evenings and Sundays. Other timetables for Bradford Overground routes show some early morning (mostly Saturdays) and late night (mostly Sunday) buses being chopped following the subsidy withdrawal. Nothing too harsh yet but it will be interesting to see how much longer before we see more cuts to early/late journeys on "core" services in all areas as Metro's area reviews continue.

633 is no longer mentioned in any of the papers- not sure whether that's an oversight or not
