From what ive seen there hardly a threat to either as yet. There both probably sat back laughing at the hash YL seems to be making of everything.

On the subject of their problems according to their Facebook page they have surrended (or had the work removed from them) the ASDA contract which they had won.

Yes it has gone to HJC because YL weren't turning up so presumably ASDA have terminated the contract.

HJC are twice as better now than what they were when they had the routes in Halifax. Especially when it comes to actually running the service.

They are doing well with their other services recently. The only problem i think they are having is the lack of Low Floor buses on the 629 because of mechanical problems.

Evidently going from one cheap firm to another cheap firm (I presume YL/ HJC have offered to do it for less than who ever else bidded). Not always the best option in the long run.

they ran the sainsburys ones really well so yeah what could go wrong. Only thing that would be was if the bus was delayed in traffi coming from Halifax.

They still have the Tesco in Brighouse and the Sainsburys in Halifax and nothing ever goes wrong with them so I would think that would be the case in Leeds too.

If the vehicle broke down? It's not exactly close to the depot!
It reminds me of when K-Line stepped in to operate a service in Otley. That didn't last very long as it was obviously inpractical.

It's an interesting one this ASDA contract, wonder if they have something set up with First or maybe Godsons whereby they borrow a vehicle from one of them at short notice. Can't see ASDA offering the contract to HJC after the farce of Yorkshire Line unless something practical has been set up to cope with vehicle breakdowns.

It will only be 30-40 mins away down the motorway, won't take long for a replacement & I'm sure buses breaking down won't be a regular occurance.

They'd probably end up with 2 broken down buses, if they sent a Dart thrashing down the M62!

No, they are reliable little things them Step Darts, it would be the Enviro's that would conk out or blow up, But a better option... Send a Metrobus out then there would be no problems.

Anyone else notice that nearly every other post on this thread is Matty trying to defend HJC! ^
It does seem impractical having HJC run it. Its like having Geldards run the Halifax C68!

Ive noticed, but just think he's supporting his local indendant. Im sure HJC have looked into the pro's and cons of this contract before agreeing to it, and its not as if Asda is a small company, they contract free bus services all over the country, they can recognise a a decent opp to a dodgy one, hence why they gave YL the push ;D Give HJC a chance!!

Anyone know why Yorkshire Line required 3 Beavers to operate the 105/6 this morning
R505 YWC, 512 and 514 for the record
Plus 142 was on the X10

Still seems R511YWC is off the road, unless anyone knows different.
