Now it does look better then i first thought. However, i believe they should get rid of the pink line. Not very nice imho, can still sense a little bit of corporate. Still think a revised Leeds City Link livery would suit & have much more sense of regional then this. Also what happens to Bradford/Halifax/Huddersfield and FSY/York? Same livery different city name?

Hope this is just experimental.
The West Yorkshire division should go back to light green and cream like in metro days.

looks auwful ,should be green and cream I think the general opinion on this forum is perhaps, Anythings better than Barbie. First have been quite brave IMO re-introducing regional liveries, given the actual cost involved, and the fact they are currently losing money nationwide as a company. Theres an old saying, You cant please all of the people, all of the time etc.etc. So whatever the final outcome of FWYs chosen livery its bound to have its detractors. From all the info gleaned so far on this thread 37690s blue livery is purely experimental, so may or may not be the one they go for. I personally am looking forward to the day when Firsts new regional liveries are fully implemented and i can go to, Say for example, Huddersfield bus station and see instantly which company is operating the 184 service purely by the livery on the bus (This route is jointly operated by First Huddersfield and First Manchester). We all have our own ideas about what colours would suit buses in our region, But whatever FWYs chosen regional livery is, Its got to be better than the autonymous Barbie.

Ok folks, as mentioned in previous messages the correct fleet number for the repaint is.37697, don't take notice of the reg or f/number carried. In fact both the proper 37688 & 37690 are out in normal service today.

They should go for a two tone green on an ftr style livery. The two tone green has been used in Leeds many years ago and York around 10-11 years ago.
PMT and the Scottish livery is exactly like olden times and if they are going exactly on olden times then Yorkshire Rider livery could may well make a comeback.
The Leeds local services livery isn't great and it's still too white !

PMT and the Scottish livery is exactly like olden times and if they are going exactly on olden times then Yorkshire Rider livery could may well make a comeback. The Leeds local services livery isn't great and it's still too white ! From what we're led to believe, Its a First regional livery which encompasses all of Yorkshire, Hence why have a two-tone green retro Leeds livery?. , When once decided on, and rolled out this livery will be applied to buses operating out of depots in Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax and possibly South Yorkshire as well. The PMT and Eastern Scottish liveries are just one-off's on those particular vehicles and have no bearing on what the finalised First Manchester/First Scotland East liveries will look like. At this stage its still only an experimental livery applied to the Leeds Gemini, So our regional colour scheme could look very different to the one posted so far. As posted above, I believe a decision regarding this new livery could be made sometime next week. I for one would'nt be surprised if the final chosen livery looks nothing like this. But i personally would'nt be too disappointed if it does.

For what its worth to some other members the scheme seen is just one of two which have been applied, the nearside is different.
The scheme is not for West Yorkshire or even all of Yorkshire but for First UK.
The Leeds wording on the side is the "regional" aspect which might be revised.
I not aware any decision will be made until the final livery is tested on the ALX400 and Single decker currently being prepared.

This seems far more feasible than different liveries for each "region". I have suspected since the start of this thread that First UK would'nt go the whole hog of a different colour for each operating area. Whatever the final outcome as to livery choice/style etc., at least we'll have something different to Barbie.

Would be nice to see what a gemini would look like in YR livery.
My understanding is they will be re-introducing route branding and follow a similar scheme to Transdev.

I may be way off here but the colours used on the bus in Leeds show a likeness to the colours used on one of the Olympic mascots Mandeville. Maybe this is going to be the livery used on the new buses which will be first used for the Olympics and then cascaded to provincial fleets. It wouldn't take much then to just apply regional fleetnames on transfer. The livery could then be applied to the rest of the fleet as the new standard colours with regional fleetnames. If it is for the Olympics it would explain why the are taking so much time over it.

You may well be onto something there actually as I was told by Andy in the paint shop that 37697 is off to London for a couple of days anytime now. Couldn't think why it would be going to London, never associated it with the Olympics! Co-incidence? Hmm... we'll see,

Why don't then send the Olympians to the Olympics?
