Considering the amount of stick First's ALX400s get I'm surprised there has been no outrage at the arrival of these buses at M Travel Its alright, cos it aint First.

I looked at the Metro and Yorkshire Travel websites, and it seems that M Travel run fewer routes on Saturdays, with even some of these routes stopping by around 2pm. As I am beginning to like the contrast of having last rode a London Metrobus Mk 1 in West Yorkshire (HJC ex- M 624 last January) and a West Midlands Metrobus Mk II in Birmingham (3069 at Easter 2009), I might no longer try too hard to locate one. The fact that Grand Central are no longer due to discontinue the routing via Pontefract means I need no longer ride it there in the near future.
I have a trip planned soon involving route 134 but shall probably accept any vehicle, although I hope it is a Spectra or the Agora.

The seats on most ALX400's with Stagecoach, Arriva, Transdev & Go Ahead are better than the seats used by First which are wafer thin with no padding. Also some or most of those operated by other operators besides First have DAF or Dennis Trident engines in, rather than Volvo B7TL that is the norm for First. Makes a difference to the level of acceleration, power and vibration.

Devon/Cornwall both have ex London Tridents along with there own new ones. Also to add that the later B7TL's (from 03 platers upwards when Transbus was formed) had much better seating and has the norm standard seating first seak.

I came to Pontefract yesterday but made do with just a Spectra, former London Central SP6. It was on route 134 together with 2 ex-Nottingham Tridents, and I also saw an Excel leave the bus station, presumably on a different route. I wept a little as I went past the garage with most buses parked there, but then M Travel are mainly a Mon-Fri operator.

From what I remember it is now single-doored. As M Travel are now acquiring early low-floor double-deckers I reckon most if not all the Metrobuses and Spectras could be withdrawn this year.

Not like them, they normally paint them in their own paintshop.

I thought they were being painted in Leeds by the same company which had the contract to repaint the Arriva Dewsbury fleet.

M-Travel now have 2 ex Shamrock ALX400's, still in Shamrock livery & double door. This will mean the end of the remaining Metrobuses.
