Pretty sure they were bodied by Optare?
I've been wondering lately why they weren't popular along with the Volvo B10L Alexander SLF?

No I'm sure they are all bodied by Iris Bus in the UK, they are part of Iveco & used to be Renault's.
The only time i've been on one of these was in Disneyland & it was a Bendy version.

Looks like an interesting vehicle. Is it an addition to the fleet or has it been purchased to replace something?

Oh wow, like it never seen one myself of the web. Would look good in M Travel livery, the smoke in the back of the photo makes it look a little like the bus is on fire.

They'd have been better off with a BMC I would think it is to replace an Excel.

They'd have been better off with a BMC They need to be smoking properly, engulfed in flames. I think its fairly obvious where the smoke has come from...

I'm probably being a little over sensitive here (but as some members have commented on the fledgling operator Yorkshire Line) - I don't think it looks too good if an operator who has just purchased a bus is told that it is a piece of crap! Please give them a chance.

I have experience of Darts in the same batch (Ex Trent R-RAUs) and they're awful things. It isn't a criticism of M Travel I don't think, more of a comment on how shocking Trent have treated these Darts. I know one operator who spent £30k getting some of these in a decent state!

On the subject of M Travel, it was reported locally [to me] that M Travel had acquired ex Diamond bus Optare Excel P502OUG from Speedwellbus, Hyde [GM]. Can anyone confirm whether this bus is actually with M Travel and is it for spares or will it be used in service.

I didn't see it at their depot when I was there, of course it could've arrived since I went there a couple of days ago.

It was Speedwellbus themselves who announced on there facebook page that it had been sold to M Travel, but it was in pour condition so has probably been used for spares for M Travels exsisting Excels.

Former M Travel Metrobus POG 497Y was in the PVS yard earlier this week minus engine and with the cutting torch being applied to the front end. RIP
