I was on one on my route and it was absolutely rubbish struggled getting up cowlersley Lane for ages, the citybuses that some replaced can get up it better than this alx400 could do and also it was abit jerky at gear changes, sadly didnt pay attention to the fleet number but mygod i was dissapointed.

Why do you think we didn't send you some Olympians, ALX400s are probably the worst Low Floor Buses available?

I love ALX400's, I don't see what's up with them! Seriously! for a start they are the loudest things i have EVER heard there was 1 today on my route (which woke me and probably the rest of the area up early this morning) & they are extremely slow!

they are good buses except for the bad cooling fans which really let them down.this is also a reason that most of the volvos in london have been sent elsewhere in the country due to noise pollution there!!.

That's what I love is the loudness, quiet buses are ok but there boring with the lack of character!

Give them to Halifax then, we'll have them in exchange for our Striders! ;D

These buses are LOUD!! Also, 30851 was in a filthy state when I saw it on the 337. I did expect Huddersfield to Fit LEDS/repaint and/or give them a good clean at least! I guess this will probably happen in due course. Give them to Halifax then, we'll have them in exchange for our Striders! ;D Take them all & give us more Gemini's instead ;D

30854 (W706CWX) what a piece of junk, seats were messy, grafiti since 2003 lmao and the cooling fan was so loud these elders were shouting constently and they were downstairs and i was upstairs at the back so low down haha. Even the driver went come on u pile of trash too.
Solution> withdraw all darts and lances at huddersfield send ALX400s to glasgow and get more citybuses, i think the citybuses are the best and mine going to town today was still clean and was very fast.

So technically, for the people who show a disliking to the ALX400 will also mean you dislike the earlier Geminis as afterall it is the same chassis but with a different body on.

I was wondering it might be more to do with the earlier chassis of B7TL as the B7TL Gemini's in Hudds are not as loud as these, and the B9TLs even lesser.
Overall, a low floor double decker is still better than a 3 step citybus, regardless of whatever the faults we'll find in them.

i like the geminis are better full stop ur not sat low down and abit laid back on back seats upstairs, theres more vents on the engine flaps and sides and the cooling fans dont come on alot on the geminis and Plaxton presidents.

I only like ALX400's because of the Interior and also with me living in Halifax (On the 576 route) I hate Gemini's because they lack the character of what an ALX400 does, but my favourite buses have got to be the Leyland Olympian and the Volvo Citybus.

i had W787KBT and it was the quieter than than 30854 by miles. Because i had top deck to myself itook a seat bass off the seat next to me so i could sit higher up at back and it made a big difference with the height (i did put the seat bass back). The cooling fan on w787kbt didnt come on at all. Personally get the seats out of the lances or striders and put them in the alx400s for comfort.

I think the ALX400'S are ok. There is 1 in Halifax W776 KBT. They sound good because it act's as an alarm clock for me.

The major problem with the Alx 400 b7s is the bodywork. The President b7s are more powerful than the Alx 400 b7s due to lighter bodywork, and better engine layout. The Alx 400 bodywork looks to be far to bulky and heavy, thus why they can't cope with hills.
