Exactly cant one operator keep some good old buses running! Probably when all the old buses become un-reliable by just breaking down every day, then they would be more likley to get some plastic modern low floors. J817JMC Is my favourite, there is a hill in elland quite steepish going upto blackley I was on J817HMC and it absolutly flew up the hil!!! I would like to see a gemini do the same! I agree the Scania's are excellent motors having used them daily when they were with Metroline, not forgetting they were originally built for the Red Express X43, certainly swift movers! As an enthusiast they are great and I appreciate them on the 28B But I am a realist and they do need to be replaced with something that can offer the accessibilty required, reduce the level of harmful emmissions (which on these are very high) and to improve the company's reputation to compete effectively with First. Most importantly schools will want to procure modern vehicles which Geldards can't offer compared to CT Plus or First, a school doesn't want to be implicated in being responsible for the procurement of a 15-20 year old bus if an accident occured!!!

Yes the Brooksbank Sports College seems to like Geldards most trips seem to be operated by Geldards or Either Stotts. On the trip to York on 817 it was in partner with 816/815 I think and 817 seemed to be stuck at 50 + at Ainley top round-about and it cut out 3 times at a junction but a good old reliable N113 started once again! If/When they get new buses they wont be as reliable as SCANIA N113DRB's. Older buses seem to be alot more reliable than newer ones :s. As Geldards seem to be good with keeping the old buses on the road... Some of the buses are always abit dirty. Last year 25th June 2011 I was on Stotts Coaches KX07HFD, so we were on the way back from flamingo land but OH NO! The A64 was shut so we came back over the A170 and at Sutton Bank we had to go down. I never really knew about the Sutton Bank + I didnt take much notice of the Steep dangerous hill as I was quite happy of being on a Plaxton Panther B12B (my favourite coach bodywork and chassis them.

Some buses are different, some are limited to 52, 56 and 62 mph

I drove past YJ04BKG (DAF East Lancs thing) this afternoon, it has been re-registered to GEL 132L
Or Geldards have bought another one.... Either way, it looked good for a 40 year old bus!

Geldards have picked up about 30 new Yellow Bus contracts in the Leeds area. Will these be a reallocation of BMC's from First or CT Plus?

Depends on who the services are currently operated by.

Geldards have picked up about 30 new Yellow Bus contracts in the Leeds area. Are they definitely Mybus contracts, because Geldards have registered to run a lot of school services commercially from September which will result in certain Mybus routes no longer being commissioned.

The Centros could be ex Arriva North East as they had 4 x 58 Reg, no's 001-4, which I believe some if not all have returned to Arriva Gomersal. I saw at least one of them there about a month ago, there was at least another one there as well.

Arriva seem to be getting rid of all of their Centro's because Arriva Scotland have got rid of some too which went to Gomersal. They were all painted white when they went back to Arriva Bus and Coach.

Geldards now acquired Dennis Trident/Alexander ALX400 KV02 URU. Seen on service 711 today. They also have KV02UST as well, both buses on the 711 today were ALX400's, presume the other one was KV02URU again but can't confirm that. Both were new to Connex but have been passed around a bit since. www.flickr.com/photos/35759580@N03/7509270660/in/photostream
