Before 1970 there was Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield Traction (later Transport) Board. This was shortened to SHMD or "the green buses". Its gotta be TOWER. sconehead85 Err it started ans stalybridge , hyde mossley and dukinfield joint transport and electricity borad , if i remember rightly - try getting that on a mini bus !

I went , it took me 6 hours to get from sheffield to Halifax !
A good day went via Holmfirth model railway exhibtiiton , missed a ride on the routemaster from Huddersfield , as we couldnt find where it stopped & photod two breakdowns.
The peace hall was very good ,surprised to see so many buses there , parking the none service buses up hill so you could get shots from the gallery was a very good idea.
A good day far better event and organisation than in previous years.

Just a brief note to explain the phrase "planning permission" in the UK the standard planning permission is obtained when you wish to build premises on a patch of land you apply for planning permission using very detailed plans etc this when granted allows you to build on the said land.
There is another type of planning permission which is called "Outline Planning Permission this is where the applicant -usually land owner but it can be anyone - ask for permission in principle to build something on that land , it could be housing , industrial commercial etc.
This is done so that the site owner or applicant is sure that if they did apply for full planning permission then they would - subject to the usual full application - get the building they want , its designed so that companies don't spend £000'000 buying land or processing applications which wont go through.
Therefore it is not unusual for companies to have outline planning permission for their sites, indeed I understand that the Yorkshire Traction Company had out line planning permission for other uses for all its sites. This as to be renewed every 5 years but this is what they did. It can in some circumstances increase the value of the land they own and therefore increase the assets on the companies books.
Do we know if the supermarket planning permission for this site is full or outline
