The 85/87/87A are to move to Hunslet Park from Bramley after the service changes. Something which does make sense, as they will no longer interwork with the 73 as that will be gone and doesn't operate near the Bramley depot.

The change to the X54 between York and Harrogate is a reduction back to a two hourly service.

It was an every 90 minute service before the end of July when the frequency was improved to hourly.

I wonder if the X54 then will terminate at York Station so the journey time from Harrogate to York and vice versa with be around 55 minutes so only one bus is needed.
That could leave one of the liveried B7RLEs to be used on the X59 which could be branded as a Yorkshirexpress route.

Doubt that - traffic congestion between Harrogate and Knaresborough and in York would result in the timetable being unable to be kept to if only one vehicle was to be used. The entry at the traffic comissioners makes no reference to route or stopping places alterations anyway.

True, but if Harrogate & District are to use two vehicles, they may as well have the service at every 90 minutes as it would be using the same resources as a two hourly service which still needs two buses.

No more long runs to Morley anymore. At last, first we at Bramley Garage got rid of them 51/51A's. Now we get rid of the 85/87/87A journeys as well.
I wonder where the Scania's will go now? I’m taking a guess we might see them replace the last remaining Dennis Darts at Bramley on the 38's and 90's

They might fingers crossed come to Hunslet park to replace the ones that arnt in that good of a state. Oh as you say might end up on the 90'S/38'S (this is the singles were talking about if it is the deckers you can keep them).
Might though end up with a mix on the new 40/40A service ranging from a B7RLE right through to a Scania Strider etc.

Service 194 (Wakefield - Barnsley) is to be significantly improved with 12 extra journeys added! Also the 95 (Barnsley - Skelmanthorpe circular) is to only have a slight timetable alteration whilst route 57 journeys serving Holmfirth won't be changed, just a small change to occur to other journeys.
On the vosa web site, i'm sure it said that the 85, 87 and 87a services were to have timetable AND route changes. Now that these services will no longer interwork with the 73, I'm hazarding a guess that they will no longer serve the bus station. It should be very interesting to see what this route change is!

Maybe a re-route them over Crown Point Bridge instead so the max off peak journey time could be under an hour rather than getting stuck on Lower Briggate.

Take it you weren't a fan of the Morleys then Ross? What's wrong with the 51/51A anyway. You would be surprised that both staff members live on part of those routes, or used to in my case!

The North Yorks service change list says "alternative services are available" to replace the withdrawn X54 journeys- are there any other services from Knaresborough or Harrogate to York or are they going to another operator?

I'm not surprised at the 38 cut back as I used it alot and it never got that busy. Nice to see the 86 been made more frequent though for what you would call a none core route.

but hang on a moment, what's goin to replave the 86 for users from belle isle to beeston hill? It's not going to go down too well as it does get fairly well used between these parts. I don't think changing from 12s 85s etc to a fairly frequent 61/86 comination will be appealing bearing in mind the record first have with reliability.

Some more information to add to this, extracted from the WYPTA web site: X11 will extend to Bradford to replace the 88, not sure if this is all day or peaks only 90 extended to Halton Moor to replace the 88, and then further extended to Cross Green Industrial Estates 74 will be increased to run every 20 mins and will follow the current 85/87 route via Pepper Road etc. 85/87 are therefore rerouted, and will provide a reinstatement of buses to Manor Farm estate, but full details not known 78 rerouted to run via Templegate estate rather than Seacroft. I presume but don't know that the route will be Leeds - St James - Templegate - Austhorpe - Cross Gates. 63 withdrawn between Drighlington and Leeds. Metro are pursuing a tendered replacement, most likely to be run by Arriva initially as a stand alone service with a view to being integrated into their network with the planned changes later in the year. The 8 was to be withdrawn between Horsforth and Seacroft but Metro have stepped in with subsidy to enable continued operation. The 76 which is to be withdrawn will not be replaced, but Arriva of course still have the 481 running to John Charles Stadium. The new service combining the 86 and 61 between Bramley, Hunslet and St James will be numbered 62. The existing 62 evening/Sunday runs to St James' will become part of the 61. The existing Cross Green end of 62 will presumably be replaced by changes to the 63 and maybe the 90.

Volvo B9TL'S for the X84, Volvo B9TL'S for the 56, and would imagine the same for the 96.
They will all be Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied.
