1503 has now arrived at Selby so all 8 have now been delivered. Also I've heard that on Friday 27th, 6 of the new buses will be in Selby near the Abbey for a press event. Will post more if I get any info. If there is going to be this press launch on Friday, which i shall attend if it is on like, what will be covering the 415s in the time whilst they are off the road to do the promo? As i mean 1500/1/2 have been noted in service so they would need atleast 3 to cover... which they could use 2 of the unbranded ones but anyways we shall see what happens. update: Some of the new buses have today gone to the racecourse in York to be photographed on Friday 27th between 10am & 2pm will now just be for members of public to look round the new buses and get info on the 415 service i.e timetables, ticket prices etc.

All the new Gemini's in service today (1500-1506) were also sporting Wheel trims, does this mean Selby is the next depot to receive these welcome additions to the fleet

Are the Geminis a little shorter than the other deckers acquired by Arriva since these only have seating for 71 rather than the 80's of the Lowlanders, Darwens and Enviro 400's
One other significant difference, they only have one set of upper deck off-side seats forward of the staircase, all the other above have two.

I notice a few of Arriva Yorkshire's management, one inspector and one driver around the bus.

Hello All, Well on Friday i went over into Selby after re traveling back from the South Midlands, (If only i had checked the forum before departing i would of gone to the rececourse), well to confirm 108/9 i can confirm have moved to Castleford as i saw 109 working in Castelford late Friday: I can also confirm that: 512. 621 & 622 were still out with 623 being on the pits on Friday. 1500/1/2/3/5/6 were all out on the 415's. 1504 being used on the Promotion day in front of Selby abbey. 1507 has had to have a new panel put on it and in the correct sun light so i am told you can tell the colouring of the paint is slightly off this was due to 1502 taking a bollard for a walk Anyway with Fridays visits all photos can be found at the below link. www.easternenglandbuspage.net/PhotoGallery/November09Final

what are these new buses like performence wise?? They are brilliant, they accelerate quite well off the line and it managed about 60 when I was on it going down a slight slope and didn't go over 56 on the straight.

I noticed a Gemini 2 on the 402 and a President on the 415 today
Do all the Selby routes still interwork with each other at Selby?

All but the 415's interwork except early morning and late at night. I was a work yesterday and things went a bit pair shaped with breakdowns etc so things were abit allover. That'll be why a Gemini 2 was on the 402 and a President on the 415.

sorry to bring up an old thread.
i had a ride on one of these buses and i was realy impressed with them. good acceleration off the mark. i think they are ten times better then the B9tls that firstleeds have. the gearbox actually allow the engine to build up some momentum before changing gear unlike the B9tls that change gear far too early.
