When ever I see a TLC Travel Optare Solo on the MC3 service in Bradford, I generally see the bus empty. So the question begs, why has the route not been axed yet or operate during peak periods so workers can get to Euroway Trading Estate.
This MetroConnect route must of been introduced a few years back when Metro were launching a few of these routes that link areas up with local services etc.
Back to topic, has anybody actually seen people on the service? Is just does seem to be a waste of Metro's money creating a social necessary service that doesn't prove to be necessary.

It must get enough passengers or else it would have been axed (or will be axed) at the end of the initial contract like many other MetroConnect services have been
Maybe most people use it in the suburbs rather than in and out of Bradford Interchange

Equally bad is Leeds' equivalent route the MC1. This has been reprieved by Metro countless times despite very low usage (even on the peak only journeys that now remain). Metro are justifying paying for it because the area is due to be regenerated by the East Leeds Link and other factors, but will this really boost passenger numbers enough to justify its very high subsidy?

Tyrer Bus operate the Keighley minibus network
It must be doing ok, as it's just been retendered. With a requirement of just 1 bus it won't be that expensive

Back to MC3, the 1730 departure is usually empty, or has a couple of people on it who missed the West Bowling bus. Can't imagine heavy usage en route!
