UID 501 going up Yew Tree Road today at Ainley Top. Presumably the driver thought they were on a 503 so used this to get back on route. Quite like the X501 that goes on the bypass occasionally or the 521 via Illingworth fire station.

Huddersfield 37292 & 37296 at around 18:15 were very unusual visitors through Wibsey on diverted X63 services due to what looks like an incident on Manchester Road (based on google maps traffic). I saw them in Wibsey but looks like they diverted from Manchester Road via Ransdale Road, Little Horton Lane, St Enochs, St Helena Road, Reevy Road, High Street, Odsal Road to Odsal Top.

Somebody stepped in front of the 687 to Scholes that left the Interchange at about 17:00 - looks like it was 69468 as it only got as far as West Bowling on bus times. Road was closed for the air ambulance. Friend said nothing driver could have done.

Huddersfield's bus tracking has been a mess for around a month, with vehicles running, but not tracking. Seems to be happening a bunch on the 372.

As Arriva buses are also having tracking issues, Pulsar 1471, I saw this afternoon, even though it hadn't tracked since 610am this morning, and commander 1409 is another one, annoying for the enthusiasts who want to get it before its withdrawn

First Leeds liveried 35283 spotted in Sheffield on a 20 to Ecclesfield today Think most of them are still in the Leeds City livery, with Leeds vinyls removed. 35283 - flic.kr/p/2pNsFvjHowever, the 1st vehicle to be repainted into the new FirstGroup national livery is also ex Leeds 35273 - www.flickr.com/photos/198020116@N02/53696251176/It looks like after all the money spent on local brans such as Leeds City, Doncaster's Red Buses, Sheffield etc. it's all going back to 1 corporate livery. Shame really.

LF24 ZBO on the 184 Driver got told off for taking it on the route. Told of by who ? and for what reason ?

Why would the driver get told off? The driver gets paid to drive the bus, the driver doesn't choose the bus. Driver gets paid to drive, driver drives whichever bus is allocated to their duty/diagram.

Not the driver's fault, blame the person who allocated the bus to the route at the depot! It had been out since 8am on the 184 according to bustimes.

Stagecoach hasn't been very competent with Oldham! Knowing the large companies at the moment, it was probably allocated with an algorithm, rather than a human

I bet the management aren't familiar with the route either

There's been plenty of those LF24 reg'd Battery Enviro's on the 184 since Bee Network took over from First. I've often thought the gradient's on the Standedge section would give their batteries a severe pounding. Maybe that's why they've now been deemed unsuitable for the route.

Well it's first class stupid that they haven't bought electric buses specifically designed for hill routes as there is a large area around Oldham with nothing but hills. What happens going forward to the 184 when every bus will need to be electric? How come they didn't go with a Youtong, after all Leeds have proven these can easily cope will hilly routes after using one a number of times on the Dalesbus 74.

The electric buses are mostly used on the 83, 84, 59 & 409 in Oldham which are urban routes with no particular hills There is also a fleet of brand new 24 plate diesel buses, which could be used on the 184

If I was a driver at Oldham and an electronic bus turned up I'd still take it. Not my problem it's been allocated wrong. Bus is a bus get in and drive it! Allocator job to make sure correct vehicle type nothing to do with driver (unless low bridge related).

Could be a 20+ minute for a new bus and therefore a late finish, I'd be taking the electric bus for sure!

First Leeds Streetdeck out of action in the M62 eastbound hard shoulder at about 11:00 today. Another Streetdeck in attendance picking up passengers. No doubt on the Amazon private hire.
