Does anyone remember Topps TV, a British Bus innovation and used in a lot of their subsidiaries such as West Riding or Northumbria Motor Services. It used to have a TV screen at front of the bus, showing episodes of On The Buses and Adverts. It must have drove the bus drivers mad having that on repeat at loud volume all day! Believe it was in the mid 1990s, and didn't last long due to complaints by passengers and drivers.
In terms of West Yorkshire, what buses had the system on?

I remember the name but can’t really remember the product. I have a vague memory of seeing it on the X33 Bradford- Sheffield route.
Apparently in the early 80s, Bradford buses had a similar ‘radio station’ that played on the top deck.

I remember the TV screens showing "On the Buses" (there may have been some advertising) on the Dewsbury – Bradford via Tong Street service and the radio station upstairs on the Haworth Road – Bradford buses.
But I can't remember the years, 1970s maybe?

But I can't remember the years, 1970s maybe? Definitely the radio station was in there in the early 80s. My dad tells a story about how as a ~2-year-old I shouted ‘Lon Lennon!’ when they played ‘Imagine’ shortly after John Lennon was killed. Other passengers laughed. I must have recognised the song from the news. Lennon died in December 1980 when I was 1, so it was 1981 maybe?

In the 1980s in London I think a certain buses, had Capital FM playing on the top deck as a sort of trial to see if it would work. The buses would advertise the fact as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWsNYoSwdKo
