36 bus towards Leeds stopped by the police near Dunkeswick around 4pm, 2 thick shoplifters got on about half a mile past the Mile Post stop never thinking CCTV was watching them the whole time from when they robbed M&S all the way to where they boarded the bus. The police knew exactly where the bus was through tracking and got themselves into position to stop the bus close to the Dunkeswick turn off.

Arriva E200mini 1007, unfortunately having a trip to Wakefield this morning why unfortunately given the 186 route is tight for the full size singles (yes i know it interworks with 147 but even that's tight in places).

The route isn't too tight at all. Double deckers are used on that route everyday, no issues. Besides, the e200minis aren't capacity suitable for that route, I live on the route I should know. There's a reason why the e200minis got transferred from Castleford back in 2022. If you want minis on the route, expect be waiting for a bus for 3 hours, as it will fill up quite quickly.

Halifax 37361 did the 548 last night in a rare turn of events. Albeit with a small diversion to avoid the low bridge

Only reason for the diversion is simply because of the blind bend approach associated with the low bridge not so much its height.

Last time I checked it runs straight down the A643.

So basically, the routes are exactly the same as when I left Halifax in July 1992, and had operated like that since dereg in 1986. It was shprtly after I left that the route was made single deck. The height of the bridge was never a problem. What was the problem, wasother drivers flinging their vehicles round the blind bend, causing the bus driver in the fear of having a head on and getting injured, doing the natural thing and moving left out of harms way, but then clattering the arch of the bridge. If I recall right there were very few instances of drivers driving straight in to the bridge, it was mostly acts of self preservation. THere may be some on here that remember the 2 white blocks painted in the carriageway in the Rastrick direction for drivers to keep to the right, and the instruction was to make sure and do not speed through. However, drivers still did what most drivers would do in a potential head on situation. Personally, I plonked it in the middle of the road and many a Lewis Hamilton landed up on the kerb, along with the usual verbal diaahorea, BUT, no damage/ injuries ensued. Finally, is there any need to put two stars in the name Jumble d**e? It is a street name not a reference to sexuality, and has been for a long number of years.
